A teenage girl has admitted she slept with 50 men in just two years.
Cheryl Tunney met most of her conquests on the Internet and hooked up with them for one night stands. She didn’t always use protection.
The unemployed 18-year-old made the shock confession on a television show.
Her mum Debbie, who she lives with, was completely unaware of the extent of her daughter’s sexual exploits.
Cheryl said: “I lost my virginity when I was 16. That was about two years ago and I’ve slept with round about 50 blokes at the moment but my mum thinks it’s a lot less.”
Cheryl admitted she was hooked on chatting to men online – then arranging to meet them for sex. Other times, she just led them on.
She said: “I could spend all day doing this.”
“We just go on there, chat to the blokes, have a laugh with them.
“It’s not always sexual conversation, sometimes we’ll get a bloke, we’ll lead them right on about sex and everything, get them to come down somewhere and we’ll leave them standing there, and keep telling them we’re on our way.
“Some blokes just come straight up with it ‘oh do you want to meet for a shag’.
“Others will just start talking to you and getting to know you.
“If they just come straight on for sex we’ll lead them right on and then we’ll stand them up.”
Cheryl was filmed for BBC3 series Sex… With Mum and Dad. Before the show Cheryl’s mum Debbie Tunney, from Dagenham, Essex, was in the dark about her daughter’s behaviour.
She said: “In my knowledge there’s been about eight or nine of them.”
The warring pair were sent to see Dutch sexologist Maria Schopman who lives and works in Amsterdam.
Debbie told her: “My main worries with Cheryl is that she, in my opinion, has too many boys on the go at a time, which she claims they are all friends but I have my suspicions. But they are also off the Internet.
“My biggest fear is that she’s going to get raped because she’ll meet people off the Internet.”
With the help of Maria, they start to get to the bottom of the teenager’s shocking behaviour – the break up of her parents’ relationship.
Cheryl said: “I can’t talk to no one, I can’t talk to my mum or anyone.
“I was always really close to my dad. I don’t see him hardly ever now, I see him once a week if I’m lucky.”
Cheryl also said she was too embarrassed to talk to her mum about sex, so she got her education from magazines and mates.
Cheryl, who admits to not always using protection, was sent to a clinic to get tested for Sexually Transmitted Infections.
She told the doctor she couldn’t remember the last time she had sex or who it was with because it was over a week ago. But she didn’t use a condom.
No one was more shocked than Cheryl when her test results came back negative.
She said: “That’s so weird, how did that happen?
“I’ve learned my lesson now from not wearing condoms, I have.”
Cheryl and Debbie were also told to write a list of the people they had slept with.
When it emerged that Debbie has slept with three men whereas Cheryl’s list was reaching 40, that she could remember, the pair had a heart to heart.
As Cheryl shed some tears and told her mum how hard her parents’ separation was for her, they shared a rare hug.
Later Cheryl said: “Me and mum have got a lot closer, I’ve told her things I wouldn’t usually tell her and we’ve just been enjoying ourselves together.
“We’ve had a conversation without it turning into an argument.”
“I’ve missed having a mother there.
“We’ve just got to spend more time together and go out with each other more.”
To show her daughter she trusted her, Debbie finally gave her a door key. She said: “I know the truth so that’s what I’ve said to Cheryl all along ‘please be truthful with me’.
“It’s bought us closer together.
“I’ve had a few tears as well in private.”
