Tom Cruise criticized over his attitude to the September 11 attacks

Posted by

Tom Cruise Scientolgy VideoThe backlash to Tom Cruise’s Scientology rant just got worse – this time over his attitude to the September 11 attacks.

Cruise has had one of the worse PR weeks of his life – after footage of him declaring his devotion to the controversial religion flooded the internet.

Now new clips have emerged, this time with him declaring U.S. officials “liars” over the fall-out to the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.

The tape then claims that “Mr Cruise” then came in and save the day.

In the promotional tape, the star states, with a manic gleam in his eye: “A Scientologist is someone who can look at the world and really see what it is . . . and be effective and do something about it and someone who’s not asking permission to do that. “Why ask permission? We are the authorities!”

Next, the video cuts to news footage of the devastation at Ground Zero and a narrator boasts: “And nothing says that better than the Mr. Cruise response to the wake-up call in the aftermath of 9/11. “If he takes a stand, it’s pedal to the metal till the finish line, as in helping New York firemen.

“He first saw the dust and heard the cough when descending to the ruins, where he bolstered morale among firemen.

“The devastation had spread an unprecedented combination of toxins through the air – and it was lethal.”

Cruise’s voice kicks back in: “The EPA came out and said the air was clean. Of course, as a Scientologist, you go, ‘That’s a lie; outpoint lie’.

“You know, you just go, ‘Liar. Fine.’ ”

The narrator then returns to brag how Cruise “personally saw to the establishment of a first New York-covered detox project. And, no, he did not ask permission.”
That detox program he set up was actually widely criticised. Even New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg once said: “Reputable scientists do not think Scientology has any basis in science.”
In another video on the Internet, Cruise is seen receiving a Freedom Medal of Valor from Scientologists. Then he stiffly salutes a giant portrait of church scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard and shouts, “To LRH!”

Tom is very devoted to his religion, such as it is. The sad part is that he’s shielded from the fact that his “religion” forces it’s most devoted female followers to get abortions if they want to continue in the Sea Org. He’s kept ignorant that there are literal slave labor camps, the RPF, of his fellow parishioners. As for other religions having “kooky” beliefs, at least they don’t charge you upwards of $360,000 USD before you learn you are infested with space cooties. Learn all the dirt on Scientology and it’s lies at http://www.xenu.net.

Unbelievable that some of you morons are so star struck you want to give this midget kudos for standing up. Standing up for what? Convincing bi-polar people to stop their meds so they end up killing family members or themselves. Standing up for ruthless attacks and slander on anyone who speaks out or leaves this so-called church. Go read a bit before you post or go rent mission impossible again and stay in your stupid star struck deluded world.

Go Tom go! He is the best and its great to see someone really sticking up for what he believes! He doesn’t have to do any of this with all his wealth. Its great to see someone who really cares and lets everyone know. You are an inspiration!

These freaks really do believe they are the authority EVERYTHING don’t they?
It seems the only thing they are really the authorities on is the ability to accuse critics of the very same misdeeds they themselves are guilty of!
The cult as a whole seems to have major sociopathic tendencies. Sociopaths hate shrinks.

While I don’t share Tom’s viewpoints, plenty of religions force other unprovable truths on their members, so I fail to see how this is any different. As for him stating the EPA were lying, well, they were, he’s absolutely correct. If you don’t believe him (or me) do your own research online; it was known that the air had toxins that would cause irrefutable long term damage but those fears were silenced. The fact that so many first responders are dying of lung diseases now shows the truth. What a tragedy.

please stop comparing scientology with other religions. scientology is the only one that works on commission (therefore not being a “religion”), disconnects its members from uncooperative associates, and litigates against its detractors. why so much fear amongst them?

Leaving Scientology aside I do sense that someone has it in for Tom in a big way. Who might that be and why? This leaked interview doesn’t include the full context in which he is speaking. At times he is a little difficult to understand, but through the twists and turns of what he was saying I could understand that he was inferring to taking action and using our own inner power in any moment which can bring something of value to the world around us. This is just my personal take on it. What intrigues me most is how easily swayed the public are to judgement when they are not really in full view of all the facts. Why do people want to rip him down? I think that if he felt within himself a need to help and this was his way of helping and more to the point it did help then isn’t that something which we all could admire? He took positive action and he is speaking out for his truth. We also have to remember that he is a human being.

To the person who wrote, “Like it or not, he is also right about psychiatry – which should be abolished because it DOESN’T WORK, and just creates drugged vegetables out of people,” how do you know? Do you believe that because Scientologists told you that? I am sure the millions of people who’ve been helped by psychiatry would tell you you’re wrong. And I challenge you to point out these drugged vegetables among people you see on the street. If what you’re saying is true, they ought to be easy to spot, no? I actually find that it’s the people who AREN’T on their meds who are easiest to spot–you know, the ones muttering to themselves, ranting at passersby, hauling grocery carts full of hoarded trash. Why won’t the Scientologists help those poor people? Because the Church of Scientology has no interest in helping truly disturbed people, and even more important, it will not help people who can’t pay for its services. Fine “church”!

I would like to ask Mr. Cruise about forced disconnection from family members – why someone can’t leave the religion without being disconnected from family and friends still in. And what about forced abortions. You can have sex but you can’t have babies in the Sea Org. Ask ex-scientologists what the Church really is.

I love that he truly stands up for what he believes in. I agree that someone really has it in for him and is determined to use the press to try and tear him down. I would like to know who exactly is instigating these attacks on him and let them be torn down in the public eye. They deserve a very violent and public expose.

Like it or not, he is also right about psychiatry – which should be abolished because it DOESN’T WORK, and just creates drugged vegetables out of people.

Tom Cruise is an inspiration to us all, and a good person whom deserves nothing but the highest respected.

Was the air safe, right after 9/11?
    No.

Did the EPA claim it was clean while they knew it wasn’t?
    Yes

    Does that make them liars?
    Yes.

Was Tom Cruise correct to point this out?
    Sure. Why shouldn’t he?

In regards to the center he established, so far, the results have been totally awesome. The large majority of the participants reported very marked improvements and no one reported adverse effects.

The program is free, no strings attached, courtesy of Tom Cruise and other sponsors.

So, what’s your problem? What’s wrong with you?
