Amy Winehouse gets a little help from Marilyn Monroe in rehab

Amy Winehouse has turned to watching Marilyn Monroe films – in order to help her cope with the hell of drug withdrawal.
The singer’s love of the tragic 1950s icon – who died of a sleeping pills overdose aged 36 – is the only thing making her smile in rehab.
Amy’s dad Mitch said yesterday: “Amy is very ill and is suffering horrific withdrawal symptoms – shivering and constantly throwing up. Her body is expelling all the rubbish.
“One thing helping Amy is her Marilyn Monroe films. Amy loves Some Like It Hot. She’s a huge fan of Monroe and thinks she’s wonderful.”
The singer, 24, famous for the lyrics “they tried to make me go to rehab I said no, no, no”, checked into London’s Capio Nightingale Hospital last Thursday after a shocking video of her smoking – what appeared to be crack cocaine – was published by a British tabloid.
Yesterday, Mitch, 57, said doctor’s were pleased of the progress his troubled daughter was making.
He added to British newspaper The Sun: “Amy’s battling bravely against addiction.
“She’s had no visitors because we didn’t want her to get emotional. Hopefully doctors will let us see her today.
“She’s compliant and follows everything they tell her ”
But the troubled soul diva – whose husband Blake Fielder-Civil is locked up in London’s Pentonville prison, faces being sectioned if she leaves the rehab facility.
A patient can be held under the Mental Health Act if two doctors and a close relative feel they are a threat to themselves – and Mitch was considering it before her drugs binge video surfaced.
A pal said: “If she quits she’ll find herself turned around and walked straight back in – against her will.”
