Miley Cyrus changes her name

Miley CyrusMiley Cyrus is changing her name and would now like to be known as Miley ‘Ray’ Cyrus, according to reports.

The Hannah Montana star, originally named Destiny Hope Cyrus, sometimes goes by the stage names, Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus – but now the teen star has decided that she would like to add ‘Ray’ to her name, like her dad Billy Ray Cyrus, according to an entertainment website.

Cyrus, 15, became an overnight success after she was cast in Hannah Montana.

Following the success of the show, a soundtrack was released in which Cyrus sang eight songs from the show.

In December 2007, she was ranked 17 in the list of Forbes Top twenty earners under 25 with an annual earning of $3.5 million.

The young star is currently working on a movie spin-off of Hannah Montana, imaginatively titled: Hannah Montana: The Movie, which is due for release late 2008.

    Why is it such a big deal? I think miley ray is a pretty name, but it would be prettier if it was miley raye or miley rae.
