Movie hunk Daniel Craig has spoken out over recent rumors Amy Winehouse is set write and record the theme tune for the new James Bond movie – and insists they’re “way off”.

“Why is everybody ramming [the name] Amy Winehouse out,” said the actor. “It’s just way, way off that.”

“Everyone’s speculating about it but we’ve got other things to deal with- there’s no point in writing the song for a movie when we haven’t got a movie,” Craig tells MTV.

We reported earlier that if the ‘Back to Black’ star – who’s currently battling her drug demons in a London rehab clinic – is clean by April, she’ll get to write and sing the theme tune for the new 007 flick Quantum Of Solace.

“That [April] is when the Bond people make a final decision on who sings the theme. If Amy is clean then, it’s hers,” said a source.

“It [the film] will have a dark and moody feel so Amy would be absolutely perfect.”It’s another fantastic carrot being dangled to encourage her to give up drugs.”

Previous singers of the Bond theme tune include Madonna, Paul McCartney, Duran Duran, Sheryl Crow & Garbage.
