Nick Lachey is set to return to reality TV – with a new show giving young people the chance to follow their dreams, MTV has confirmed.
According to reports, the show, tentatively titled the “Celebrity Music Mentor Project”, will document the lives of students at Lachey’s alma mater, the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati.
Tony DiSanto, MTV’s Executive Vice President series development and programming, said the project boasts a unique format that breaks new ground in the reality arena, similarly to how MTV’s “Laguna Beach” launched a new form of unscripted storytelling.
“The stories and relationships are all set to music that’s organic in what’s going on in the school and also performed by the kids,” DiSanto tells the Hollywood Reporter. “This is a genre-busting, creative experiment that I’m really excited about.”
Lachey, no stranger to reality TV, starring in MTV hit Newlyweds with then wife Jessica Simpson from 2003-2005 – is the creator and executive producer of the project.

This is an amazing opportunity. I have been working for so long trying to find people willing to help teenaged girls get to their dreams. Do you have to be a certain person to do this, like a certain age or whatever school they said above? And check me out on InstantCast. I’m the cheerleader on her stomach
