Steve-O on suicide watch

SteveoJackass wildman Steve-O has been hospitalized and is being held on suicide watch, it was reported today.

The London-born TV prankster is at the same Beverly Hills mental health centre where actor Owen Wilson was taken following his suicide attempt last year.

Sources say he was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Sunday after threatening to kill himself.

The reports emerged just days after a video showing Steve-O pointing a gun at his head was posted on the internet.

An insider told Star magazine Steve-O was taken to the hospital’s emergency room on Sunday and tested for drugs. He was then put on a 72-hour hold at the Thalians Mental Health Center.

The source said: “Steve is stabilized on meds at this point.

“He was also treated for burns on his skin as if he had been putting cigarettes out on his own body.”

Livewire Steve-O is said to suffer from bipolar disorder. He spent a night in police cells last week after being arrested for allegedly punching holes in a wall at his Hollywood apartment building.

A family friend told Star: “Right now he’s in extreme mania.

“His concerned friends and family are hoping he’ll seek treatment.

“He doesn’t need jail, he needs therapy.

“We’re just really hoping that this will be the wake-up call that gets him back to himself.”

Steve-O is said to have emailed suicide notes to several friends last weekend, blaming a broken romance for his torment.

A video posted on YouTube also showed him playing Russian roulette with a revolver while smashing up his apartment in a rage after being evicted.

A manic Steve-O is seen asking the cameraman: “”Do you like my revolver?

“Do you like it pointing at you?”

It is not clear if the revolver is real or a replica, but Steve-O says: “It doesn’t work.”

A spokesman for Steve-O was not immediately available for comment.
