P Diddy denies claims linking him to the murder of Tupac Shakur

P DiddyRap mogul Sean Combs has angrily denied claims linking him to the murder of hip-hop star Tupac Shakur.

Diddy hit back at a Los Angeles Times story, which alleged he knew in advance about the attack on Tupac.

The star was slain at Quad Recording Studios in New York’s Times Square in 1994, sparking a violent feud between East and West coast rappers.

The L.A Times says its story was based on FBI records, interviews with people at the scene of the killing and information given to the FBI by an informant.

The paper claimed that Shakur was lured to the studio by people hoping to find favour with Combs.

Combs was at the time overseeing the hit career of rapper Notorious B.I.G, who was later murdered in the feud.

“The story is a lie,” Combs said in a statement.

“It is beyond ridiculous and completely false. Neither (the late rapper Notorious B.I.G.) nor I had any knowledge of any attack before, during or after it happened.

“I am shocked that the Los Angeles Times would be so irresponsible as to publish such a baseless and completely untrue story.”

The paper claimed that talent manager Jimmy ‘Henchman’ Rosemond and promoter James Sabatino arranged the attack on Tupac.

He has now branded the story a ‘libelous piece of garbage.’

“In the past 14 years, I have not even been questioned by law enforcement with regard to the assault of Tupac Shakur, let alone brought up on charges,” Rosemond said.

“Chuck Philips, the writer, has reached a new low by employing fourth-hand information from desperate jailhouse informants along with ancient FBI reports to create this fabrication.

“I simply ask for all rap fans and fans of Tupac to analyze this fiction for what it is.”
