Rapper Busta Rhymes has dodged prison.
Instead the hip-hop star was ordered by a judge to stay away from convicted felons – unless they are up on stage with him!!!!
Rhymes was given three years probation, but a New York judge did not ban him from performing with the likes of Snoop Dogg, ‘Lil Kim and DMX, who have all fallen foul of the law.
Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith, was sentenced in Manhattan for a string of assault charges and driving offenses, dating back to 2005.
Prosecutors wanted Rhymes to spend a year behind bars, but his defense lawyers convinced Judge Larry Stephens to give him a chance.
“If you mess up you are going to jail. I gave you an opportunity. Make the most of it,” Stephens told Rhymes.
Rhymes, 35, said after the case that he was happy with the result.”I couldn’t feel better. I thank the judge.
“I got no problems with being a good dude, because that’s what I am.
“It’s just a little formality I gotta get past.”
