The adventures of John ‘Hannibal’ Smith, Bosco ‘B.A’ Baracus, Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck and ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock is getting the Hollywood treatment.

A movie-version of the popular 1980s action show will be released on June 12 2009, according to Variety magazine.

It is being directed by ‘Boyz in the Hood’ helmer John Singleton.

Casting for the roles has not yet been announced, but Ice Cube and Woody Harrelson have been linked with parts.

The A-Team developed cult status during its run between 1983 and 1986.

It followed the adventures of a fictional group of former U.S Army Special Forces soldiers, who famously work as mercenaries while on the run for a ‘crime they didn’t commit.’

The show coined famous phrases such as ‘I love it when a plan comes together’ and ‘I ain’t getting on no plane.’

In the original series George Peppard played Smith, Dirk Benedict played Peck, Dwight Schultz played Murdock and Mr. T, played B.A Baracus.
