Actress Tori Spelling says she’d love to be in the Beverly Hills 90210 remake – but the show’s producers are yet to contact her about starring in the new show.
Spelling – who, for 10 years, played Donna Martin in the hit 80s teen drama – is ready to step up if she gets offered a role in the remake, which is being developed by CW.
Referring to her late father Aaron Spelling – who was also 90210’s producer – Tori, 34, says: “My dad always wanted to do a new version of 90210, so I’m sure he will be beaming from above!
“And I’d love to somehow be a part of it. That as well would make my dad proud,” Spelling, who is pregnant with her second child, enthuses.
And on what sort of role she intends to play, Tori explains: “Well, I am a mom now, proud to say, but obviously too young to have a teenager, so maybe I could be one of the main character’s young stepmom.
“Playing the funny sex ed teacher at the high school would be funny, too, considering Donna Martin was America’s most infamous virgin.”
“The show was a huge part of my life. Ten years! I miss it dearly.”
The actress first heard of the remake while promoting her new book, sTori Telling.
“I thought … it’s about time,” Spelling tells People.com. “I’m surprised it took this long for them to make a 90210 spinoff.”
