Corinne Bailey Rae’s husband died of “overdose”

Corinne Bailey Rae’s husband died from a suspected drug overdose, a coroner heard Thursday at an inquest into the death of saxophonist Jason Rae.
The body of 31-year-old Jason Rae was found in a flat in the Hyde Park area of Leeds on Saturday.
Deputy Assistant Coroner Roger Chapman told the BBC a pathologist’s report pointed to a “suspected drugs overdose”.
The inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed so further investigations could take place. Mr Rae’s body was released and a burial order made.
Officers arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs before later releasing him on bail pending further inquiries.
Bailey Rae, 29, met Jason while working as a cloakroom attendant at a Leeds jazz club. They married in 2001.
The Leeds-born singer is said to be devastated by her husband’s death. Her record label said in a statement: “EMI Records would like to offer its sincere condolences to Corinne Bailey Rae and the Rae family at this tragic time.
“We ask that the media respects Corinne’s privacy and that of her entire family.”
