Paul McCartney urges people to give up meat

Paul McCartneySir Paul McCartney is urging people to help save the planet by giving up meat.

The 65-year-old ‘Beatles’ legend — a vegetarian — said the amount of land and water used by the meat industry makes it a huge contributor to global warming.

He said: “The biggest change anyone could make would be to become vegetarian.

“I would urge everyone to take this simple step to help our environment.”

A 2006 UN report found cattle-rearing generated more greenhouse gases than transportation.

Meanwhile, Paul is reportedly set to bring his ex-wife Heather Mills with him on tour — so that he can have his 4-year-old daughter Beatrice by his side for the 14-month duration.

A source said: “Paul is desperate to keep Bea close by him. If he just heads off round the world he will get upset at not seeing her.

“He realizes he has to do some kind of deal with Heather, and to keep disruption to a minimum he has come up with this idea. He feels that letting Heather fly to him where they are touring could be the best way.

“Many of those close to him are not sure this plan will work.

“Heather is so unpredictable that anything could happen.”
