Amy Winehouse released from police custody
Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse was released from a London police station Saturday following her Friday arrest.
The soul diva, 24, was questioned about reports she attacked two men during a drug-fueled night out earlier this week. She received a formal police caution but no charge for assault.
The incident will remain on Amy’s record and could count against her if she is ever charged with a similar offense in future.
Police said a 24-year-old woman had been cautioned for common assault. British police do not identify suspects who have not been charged.
A statement released by the ‘Rehab’ singer’s rep, Chris Goodman, said she “admitted to a common assault by slapping a man with an open hand and accepted a caution.
“Amy was fully cooperative with inquiries and apologized for the incident,” the statement said
