Tom Cruise recently sent wife Katie Holmes on a 3-day stay at a Scientology camp, it has been claimed.
The actor, 45, sent Katie to Gold Base, the remote, super-secret Scientology compound in Hemet, Calif., where she was reportedly put through a demanding schedule.
“It included various tests, confession sessions, tons of reading and physically challenging purification processes,” a Scientology insider tells Star magazine. “Tom insists that auditing and purification practices are incredibly beneficial to Scientologists at all levels.”
Tom has beefed up Katie’s Scientology training and treatments these past few weeks — because she wanted to go to New York City and star in a Broadway play. But the Top Gun star stepped in and put a halt on her plans. And now, according to reports, Katie, 29, has been subjected to a series of intensive auditing sessions, some which have lasted for 36 hours straight — with little sleep or food.
The highly-controversial religion’s practices have been in a cloud of secrecy for many years. But information about the church — which counts John Travolta, Kirstie Alley and Leah Remini among its members — has become public since last month’s defection of Cane actor Jason Beghe.
The followers are subjected to grueling auditing sessions to “personal spiritual counseling,” where members are hooked up to a lie-detector-like device called an E-meter and bombarded with the most personal of questions.

lol I can never understand how some people can join a cult started by a (bad) science fiction writer. Its “Code of Honor” includes this: Never fear to hurt another in a just cause. It’s beyond scary.

Wow, first two posters, VERY creepy!
The first one talking about how great it must be to get a discount for BELONGING to TC???
And the second one talking about a child spending more time with a nanny as a GOOD thing???
Is that what a typical scientologist considers good family values?
And now, from the makers of Disconnect:
Spouse Ownership and Quality SciNanny Time.
Comment by Marc Abian — 30 Apr
I can’t argue with this if Katie is getting a break in the cost. Auditing is pricey, but I bet Tom Cruise will get Katie discounted sessions.
You have to admit, Katie hasn’t been very obedient to Tom lately. I’m sure that Suri is also tired of Katie’s behavior.

Oh my goodness, this is horrible news! These Scientologists who say it is beneficial are accomplices to this tragedy. Please everyone, learn the truth about the Scientology cult on http://www.xenu.net . Scientology is a vicious cult as well as a wealthy multinational corporation, and it has harmed many people. Poor Katie is banished to Scientology boot camp for “re-education” i.e. brainwashing, just because she dared to consider leaving Tom Cruise and his delusional science fiction fantasies. I really hope the authorities step in soon to rescue Katie and all others stuck in Scientology who attempt for a moment to think for themselves. To all the Scientologists assigned to writing on message boards of Scientology news stories, you people are behind the curve. Consensus reality is now that Scientology is doomed, especially now that your cruise ship Freewinds will have to be scrapped because of its asbestos. Get out now while you can. Otherwise, you Flunk.
Pray for Katie and other victims of Scientology.

GOOD NEWS FOR KATIE.
She needs this auditing. She needs to get with the program. Scientology doesn’t work unless everybody follows the orders of the L Ron Hubbard and the church. The auditing will help mold her thoughts. She won’t cause as many problems.
Comment by Tom Cruise — 30 Apr
Ooh, and they get even creepier!!
The auditing will help MOLD her thoughts? So she won’t cause problems!?!? OBEDIENT to Tom!?!?!
Scientology Stepford wives?!?
GTFO CULT!!!
Comment by Marc Abian — 30 Apr
People who are in favor of her getting audiing are sick. If you know about the practice of auditing, you are continually pressured to admit your crimes and misdeeds even if you dont have any.
People saying she needs to be molded and obey Tom are sick. She’s a woman who should be able to have thoughts of her own.

Does anyone find the comments in support of this frightfully creepy?
There’s something terribly off about Scientology and its followers.

Yes the http://www.xenu.net is an excellent site to learn about this abusive cult, and I also recommend http://www.youfoundthecard.com
Scientology needs to be stopped. It is not, I repeat NOT a religion. That is just a charade. It is a dangerous criminal racket cult.

OMG! It just gets sicker and sicker. I hope that Katie gets free soon or she’s done for.
Comment by Judy — 30 Apr
If David Miscavige feels that this is what Katie needs, then I think it’s for the best.
Katie needs to confront her own suppression.
You go, Katie! Get clear, girl! Don’t listen to the haters. They’re getting paid big money by the psychs and pharma-terrorists
Comment by TC Forever — 30 Apr
LOL scientology fake news really sells!
crazy katie , I hope you stay locked in hemet desert forever because YOU SUCKS! YOU ARE NOT AN ACTRESS
YOU ALSO ARE A LIABILITY FOR POOR TOM WHO REALLY SUFFER FROM ALL HIS AUDITIONS AND SESSIONS BUT ALSO FROM YOU GOLDIGGER!
LEAVE TOM ALONE YOU SCIENO BRIDE!
GO BACK TO YOUR CONTRACTOR MISCAVIGE THE SECT LEADER
FREE TOM
Comment by geraldo — 01 May
She probably needs this, and you shouldn’t make this sound so bad. She’s probably getting a discount because she belongs to TC. The SEC-checking sucks, but if Katie gets a discount on the auditing then its awesome.
Comment by Tom Cruise Fan — 30 Apr
I can’t believe how many haters are on here!!!
This is such a wonderful thing for Katie. Scientology teaches how to think. The auditing can be a bit tiring and intense, but she will be a better woman and a better wife for it. Surely, the cost can’t be an issue for her!
We are going to clear this planet. Either get with the program or get out of the way. LRH tech is flawless and unstoppable. We ARE the experts on the mind. You haters are obviously just being paid by psychiatrists and big pharma to spout crazy lies.
We won’t stop until we’ve put LRH tech in every school, company and community on the planet and demand nothing less than the global obliteration of psychiatry. That will be the day we’ve won a sane and clear planet!

OMG, will you Scientologists LISTEN to yourselves?
“psychs and pharma-terrorists”
“if Katie gets a discount on the auditing then its awesome.”
REALLY? Holy smokes man, you have lost all sense of nomality and completely disconnected from the real world (along with your family). Please, go read a bookm, and not one written by L Con Hubbard. Go get some fresh air, talk to NORMAL non-scientologist people. Cheese and rice, FREE yourself will ya? I swear the whacked out thing that cult makes some of you say is equally laughible, sad, and scary. Ground control to Major Tom…
Comment by Anon1376 — 01 May
I agree this is what Katie needs. Also, Tom Cruise (Mr Hollywood) will have a chance for some R&R and some “wrestling practice.” Meanwhile Suri will get some private time with her Scientologist nanny.
This is the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics.

Three things:
1) For those of you who think what is happening to Katie is great, I quote from the article, “Katie, 29, has been subjected to a series of intensive auditing sessions, some which have lasted for 36 hours straight — with little sleep or food.” This is *not* a good thing. Your body needs both food and sleep to re-generate dead cells. Think on that.
2) If you have been on the Freewinds anytime since at least the 1980’s do two things. First, go see a real (aka non-scientology) doctor. Second, contact a lawyer as there is very likely a very good lawsuit here as there is plenty of precedence in asbestos litigation.
3)Think long and hard about every win you have had in Scientology. Now, think long and hard about the ethics you have had to go through. Especially if you are “Clear” think long and hard, and ask yourself, “If Clear is perfection, then why am I not perfect? Why do I have to go to Ethics? Why did I get that clod last month? Why can’t I remember in precise detail what I did the third Monday of September three years ago?” Think on the answers to these qestions, and then, ask your own questions. It’s allowed.

Erm, I’m going to just take printouts of this article and comments to the next protest, let the public read what the scientologist commentators have written, and let the public make up their own minds.
Sheesh – you guys might not be able to see how brainwashed you are, but the rest of the world can – just from this!

I was so happy and relieved to hear that Katie Holmes was finally taking a stand for independence, and trying to get away from Tom Cruise for awhile in NYC. Last I had heard, ‘he was fine with it as long as he went along’. So guess that wasn’t true-if his reaction as a control freak was to send his poor wife to some cult camp! And why the heck did she agree to GO THERE?
Katie is a lovely person, extremely talented and intelligent. I think she is starting to wake up finally to the problems in her marriage to someone like Tom Cruise, and now he is trying to ‘control her’ by keeping her from putting distance between them.
Scientology is not a religion, it’s a cult pure and simple. And it’s freaky-they consider themselves superior to other humans, and have some master plan to take over the earth. Any organization that is so ignorant to denounce years of medical research and education in mental health and psychiatry, etc. is really wrong. And not informed.
I think someone should make Tom Cruise take a Neurobiology 101 class to learn the medical reasons behind what causes mental illnesses, and how the brain really operates. He obviously has no clue or knowledge about psychiatry.
This isn’t a marriage-it’s a very expensive prison. Katie needs to get out, and not let him keep intimidating her and controlling what she does. She is a great Actress–let her act!
Those weird people at the top of this forum who were actually supporting what happened? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!
Just what the world needs- another insane cult.
Comment by Bubba — 02 May
Has Tom ever been to one of these “camps” they speak of? When THAT guy finally leaves the cult, it will probably be in a wake of bodies. The high-school-drop-out-and-evil-elf (Miscavige) will get what is coming to him. He is probably the most hated man in America and second is the other cult leader that arranges 14 year old girls to marry 50+ year old men. Megalomaniacs tend to be very controlling. I would rather follow the sci-fi of Douglas Adams than that mediocre-writer (and freak) Hubbard.
Comment by Domino — 01 May
Ah, exactly what every wife needs when she voices a desire to strike out and do her own thing for a while — her husband handing her over to his cult buddies for a quick brainwashing/interrogation session!
Poor, poor Katie. Eh, I guess she should be thankful she wasn’t sent to the Freewinds cruise ship — oh, wait! She can’t, because it just got SEALED for being riddled with blue asbestos (only the BEST carcinogens for Scientologists). Better yet, that blue asbestos has been out in the public record from ex-Scis for at least 7 years. And the Church of Scientology has known about it since they bought the damn thing decades ago.
So Katie aside — if you’ve been on the Freewinds at all, go to a doctor and tell them you might’ve been exposed to quite a lot of blue asbestos. Seriously.

OMGZ IT’S ALL THE PSYCHS!
Look, I’m the first person to criticize pharmaceutical companies. They’re quite horrendous, but to deny the advancements of modern psychology is problematic. It HELPS people just like people claim $cientology “HELPS” people.
These camps aren’t therapy or spiritual healing. It’s brainwashing pure and simple. Auditing sessions that last for days at a time? How is that NOT brainwashing, exhaust the person, and then riddle them with Scilon propaganda.
VERY SHADY. Free the Scientologists man, it’s a human rights disaster!!!

“The SEC-checking sucks, but if Katie gets a discount on the auditing then its awesome.”

Wow, do you think they can’t afford auditing sessions?
——————–
“The auditing will help mold her thoughts.”
———-
Ya, mold her thoughts into a $cifag zombie. You people say that psychiatry is mind altering, explain your techniques in Scientology.
——————–
“You have to admit, Katie hasn’t been very obedient to Tom Lately. I’m sure that Suri is also tired of Katie’s behavior.”
———-
As far as I have seen, she hasn’t been very disobedient, and as far as Suri is concerned, I think she probably wants to see her Mom and Dad a little more than once every 2 weeks.
——————–
“You go, Katie! Get clear, girl! Don’t listen to the haters. They’re getting paid big money by the psychs and pharma-terroists”

Is everyone that is opposed to Scientology secretly working for psychs? Wow, I guess so, if the $cifag said it is.
——————–
“LEAVE TOM ALONE YOU SCIENO BRIDE! GO BACK TO YOUR CONTRACTOR MISCAVIGE THE SECT LEADER”
———-
Tom was the one in Scientology, not Katie. He brought Nicole in and she left, that’s when they got divorced. Then he married Katie and since Scientologists now have all his secrets etc., they told him to bring in Katie who joined shortly after marriage.
