Amy Winehouse will not face drug charges

Amy WinehouseTroubled Amy Winehouse will not face drugs charges over a video that showed her smoking crack cocaine through a glass pipe, police have confirmed.

The ‘Valerie’ singer, 24, was earlier this month interviewed under caution by police in east London after the footage was posted online in January.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has now reviewed the case and no further action is being taken.”

Her spokesman said: “Amy is pleased to be able to move on.

“She particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly-awaited festival performances this summer.”

The Grammy Award winning singer — whose husband Blake Fielder-Civil is locked up in London’s Pentonville Prison accused of assault and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice — was arrested at Limehouse police station on May 7 in connection with the alleged possession of a controlled drug, police said.

She had been bailed to return later this month, but the matter has now been closed.

The video, posted online by British newspaper The Sun, was said to have been filmed at her London home.
