Favreau Concerned About Iron Man Sequel

IRON MAN director JON FAVREAU has voiced his concerns about the scheduled release date for the comic book sequel – insisting he needs more time to make a good movie.

The action picture, which was released last month (May08), was a global box office smash and movie chiefs were quick to commission a sequel, slating an April 2010 release date.

But Favreau is worried that he won’t be able to make the movie properly if he has to rush it to meet such a tight deadline – admitting both he and lead actor Robert Downey Jr. are unhappy with the release date.

He says, “Neither Robert nor I were consulted about this and we are both concerned about how realistic the date is. We owe it to the fans to have a great version of IM2 and, at this point, we would have less time to make it than the first one.”
