Amy Winehouse to Have Doctors on Standby at Mandela Gig

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse will play Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday Concert later this week, despite her fragile health.

The talented Rehab hitmaker is determined to perform at the London gig on Friday June 27, and not let her supporters down.

But an ambulance crew will be on permanent standby for the frail singer, who was hospitalized with emphysema last week.

And concert bosses are even refusing Amy’s rider requests for alcopops and vodka after fearing she could make herself ill.

Amy’s friends could also be banned from the gig after her devoted dad Mitch pleaded, “What hope does she have if people are taking drugs around her? I don’t want her hanging out with mates like Pete Doherty.”

Instead, Amy’s backstage area will include a private hospital suite with a massage bed and paramedics.

A source tells Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “After everything Amy has been through, her main fear is that she has lost her lucky pendant containing a lock of hubby Blake’s hair. Amy is desperate to find it because she reckons she can only perform at her best when she’s wearing it.”
