Dr. Dre Completes First Album In Nine Years
SNOOP DOGG has confirmed his pal DR. DRE’s long-awaited new album DETOX is complete, after helping to add the finishing touches.
And the Gin N’ Juice hitmaker is convinced the rap mogul’s first new release in nine years will put him back at the top of the hip-hop game.
Snoop reveals Dre is currently selecting tracks for the album, adding, “That record is real, it’s coming… I was starting to doubt it myself and then I went up in there and he played so much music for me it knocked my head off. I see what he got them waiting for. It’s on and poppin’. He got records, he got heat.”
Since the release of his album 2001 in 1999, Dr. Dre has dedicated his time to launching and helping the careers of other rappers like Eminem, The Game and 50 Cent.

. . . we all know and have heard about the infamous Detox for many years. We all know how Dr. Dre has his studio obsession. Now, how do we ever know that it will ever be released? It would be typical of Dr. Dre to get a month away from the release date and do some final re-adjustments and adding touches – but hasn’t he done enough re-adjustments and adding touches? The longer he prolongs the release of the long-awaited Detox – the more pressure will build up and the higher the peoples expectations will be of the album. But how much can an artist do for a song and an album? How can one man/one artist with the help of many producers take so long on twenty-odd tracks? Dr. Dre needs to hurry up and release this album before the expectations become too-high and it becomes pinned as “over-rated.” But as we all know just because fellow rapper and friend off Dr. Dre says it is completed it does not mean it’ll be released this year. So then we begin to think, “Every time we hear a release-date, won’t it just be pro-longed by another half-a-year?” I will believe the release of the album when I hear an official single from the album and artist himself.
