Kurt Cobain’s items to be sold off at auction

Kurt CobainSeveral items belonging to the late Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain will be auctioned off by his widow Courtney Love. The 42-year-old Love told Spinner.com “I’m going to have a Christie’s auction,” and told the web site her house was like a “mausoleum.”

Cobain, who committed suicide in April, 1994, married Love two years prior to his death. The couple had a daughter, Frances Bean, who will inherit “a sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to ‘(Smells Like) Teen Spirit’” according to Love.

No date has been set for the auction.

Love has said that part of the money raised through the auction would be donated to charity.

Heather Mills turns down Celebrity Big Brother

Heather Mills

Former ‘Dancing with the stars’ star, and ex wife of Paul McCartney, Heather Mills has reportedly turned down an offer to appear on Celebrity Big Brother.

Producers were keen to snap up the 39-year-old since her recent appearance on the US reality TV show.

But her spokesman said: “It’s true that Heather’s been approached by the producers of several reality TV shows, but she has declined on every occasion and will not be appearing on any such programme.

“She took part in Dancing With The Stars to raise money for one of the charities she supports, but it was a one-off and there are no plans to do any others in the future.

“People have been wishing her luck on Celebrity Big Brother when she is out shopping or playing with her daughter and she feels it unfair the public have been misled.

“It has also led to an increase in attention from paparazzi photographers around her home. Heather is hoping this will end the speculation.”

The former model is currently embroiled in a bitter divorce battle with Sir Paul McCartney.

Daryl Hannah to adopt

Daryl HannahUS actress Daryl Hannah has plans to follow in the footsteps of other celebs and possibly adopt. Although she won’t be adopting an African child because there are plenty of American kids to be adopted in the US.

Ms Hannah said; “There are more than half a million children here in the US who need to be adopted or need homes – so called hard to adopt kids because they’re not babies and come from troubled backgrounds – so i think that’s probably the way i’d go.”

Björk and Red Hot Chilis wow Coachella festival

BjörkBjörk and The Red Hot Chili Peppers made sure the first three-day Coachella Festival was one for the ages last weekend with stellar headlining performances.

Björk kicked off her world tour at the California desert festival on Friday backed by a colourful all-female brass band.

The eccentric Icelander made a typically daring fashion statement by wearing a black and white bodice together with a garish skirt for the open-air show.

She still dazzled with her performance – playing a host of hits as well as new songs that included ‘Innocence’, her new collaboration with producer Timbaland.

Last night, it was the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ turn to thrill the festival’s 60,000 happy campers and visitors.

Sporting a new, sculpted moustache, frontman Anthony Kiedis led the Californian four-piece through a hits show, drawing the biggest crowd of the weekend so far.

Bandmates Flea, Chad Smith and John Frusciante had a little fun during one of energetic Kiedis’ stage breaks, running through a pitch-perfect rendition of Donna Summer’s disco classic ‘I Feel Love’.

Paul McCartney to make a concert with aliens…

Paul Mccartney
Music Legends: Sir Paul McCartney, David Bowie and Michael Jackson are set to make contact with aliens, claims author Michael C. Luckman.

The acts, along with Sir Elton John and The Rolling Stones, have been lined up to headline a series of concerts aimed at establishing peaceful contact with aliens by beaming music into outer space.

Luckman, author of ‘Alien Rock: The Rock ‘n’ Roll Extraterrestrial Connection’, plans to hold his ‘Signals to Space Concerts’ in Berlin, Tokyo, New York, China, Russia, Mexico and London, and hopes extraterrestrials will respond to the shows.

He told BANG Showbiz: “The aim of the concerts is to beam live music into outer space, particularly to targets in our solar systems, including Mars and the moon, to try and establish peaceful contact with extraterrestrial civilisations. Each show will be as large as Woodstock.”

He added: “Some of the possible headliners are Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and Michael Jackson.

“Pete Bennett, the legendary promotion manager for the Beatles is also going to be involved in the project.

“He is a friend and supporter of both my book and the ‘Signal to Space Concerts’ and feels, as I do, that space is music’s final frontier.”

Kate Middleton blames Prince Charles for split

Kate Middleton
Prince William’s ex-girlfriend Kate Middleton has blamed the young Royal’s father Prince Charles for the couple’s break-up.

The normally tight-lipped brunette, who works at UK fashion chain Jigsaw, blurted the reason for the split to worried work colleagues, saying: “It’s because of his daddy.”

It is thought Charles advised his son to ditch his girlfriend unless he planned to marry her, to avoid the mistakes he made with Diana.

Jigsaw co-worker Philip Higgs tells British newspaper Daily Mirror: “Normally, Kate doesn’t talk about anything. She’s very quiet. But it was as if she’d reached boiling point from one sympathetic question too many.”
