Robin Roberts the US TV presenter on ‘Good Morning America’ has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will be undergoing surgery on Friday.

Ms Roberts found a lump on her breast on the same day she reported the death of film critic Joel Siegel last month who had colon cancer. She told viewers about her cancer on the show and said: “I am so blessed that i found this in the early stages.”

She then added: “The prognosis is so promising that my doctor expects me to be flying planes and hanging on to submarines in the middle of the Atlantic and scaling the Mayan pyramids in no time.” 

Ms Roberts has appeared on ABC’s Morning programme since 1995. She was news-reader before becoming one of the shows presenters in 2005.

Former ‘The View’ co-host Rosie O’Donnel has hit out at Paula Abdul in her favorite form of communication these days: blogging. This isn’t the first time Rosie has slammed Abdul. Her latest criticism of Abdul seems to be on the “American Idol” judges reality show ‘Hey, Paula’

In January O’Donnell launched a scathing verbal attack all three of the American Idol judges after many thought they were being cruel to the contestants. She seemed to refer to Abdul specifically when she said one of the judges were “probably intoxicated.”

Abdul has been questioned about her sometimes odd behavior on the show. Speculation on her behavior ranges from drugs to alcohol abuse.

Actress Angelina Jolie has dropped her legal battle against the French perfume maker, Symine Salimpour, from naming her newest range of perfume the same name as her daughter, Shiloh. The actress reportedly filed a notice at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office over the incident.

Salimpour claimed the name of the scent was in no way related to Jolie’s daughter. Jolie dropped the legal battle after five months. I was so scared. I mean, c’mon, who wouldn’t be?” Salimpour says. In Hebrew, Shiloh means “his gift.” And I will use the perfume to give something back to the children of Israel and the middle-east,” she says. Salimpour is a citizen of France and Israel.

Five percent of the profits from the perfume will go to an Israeli organization that provides medical care and education to disabled children. Jolie’s lawyer has yet to comment. Shiloh is Jolie and Pitt’s only biological child but, the couple has three adopted children from different countries.

Representatives for Jude Law have denied reports linking him to popular actress Cameron Diaz.

After weeks of speculation from the press, especially British newspaper The News of the World, rumours have now been smashed, despite any confirmation from Diaz.

The News Of The World recently claimed that the pair, who starred in The Holiday together, had developed feelings for each other but were “hesitant” about jumping in too fast. However, Law’s camp have insisted that the newspaper’s report was “erroneous”.

A spokesperson for Jude told the Daily Mirror: “He hasn’t seen her for months. They’re friends but that it.”

Britney Spears has taken action against her ‘ill-fated’ new personal assistant, Shannon Funk, who has only been in the job for 3 full weeks.

It is believed Spears decided to sack the newly instated assistant after claims that she was “too controlling”, and publicly blaming her for her personal troubles.

This decision came after a dreadful photoshoot with the OK! Magazine, in which she holds the PA partly responsible, suggesting there had already been major problems.

“Britney didn’t blame the day directly on her assistant,” an insider told Chinadaily.com, “but just said in general that a lot of her problems recently were caused by Shannon’s unprofessional behavior. Britney thought Shannon was rude and tried to run her affairs without listening to her.”

Manager Larry Rudolph and public relations firm BWR have also been in the firing line this year, an extremely troubled year for the pop sensation.
