Tom Cruise recently sent wife Katie Holmes on a 3-day stay at a Scientology camp, it has been claimed.

The actor, 45, sent Katie to Gold Base, the remote, super-secret Scientology compound in Hemet, Calif., where she was reportedly put through a demanding schedule.

“It included various tests, confession sessions, tons of reading and physically challenging purification processes,” a Scientology insider tells Star magazine. “Tom insists that auditing and purification practices are incredibly beneficial to Scientologists at all levels.”

Tom has beefed up Katie’s Scientology training and treatments these past few weeks — because she wanted to go to New York City and star in a Broadway play. But the Top Gun star stepped in and put a halt on her plans. And now, according to reports, Katie, 29, has been subjected to a series of intensive auditing sessions, some which have lasted for 36 hours straight — with little sleep or food.

The highly-controversial religion’s practices have been in a cloud of secrecy for many years. But information about the church — which counts John Travolta, Kirstie Alley and Leah Remini among its members — has become public since last month’s defection of Cane actor Jason Beghe.

The followers are subjected to grueling auditing sessions to “personal spiritual counseling,” where members are hooked up to a lie-detector-like device called an E-meter and bombarded with the most personal of questions.

Courteney Cox and her husband, David Arquette, are trying for another baby.

The couple are keen for their three-year-old daughter Coco to have a little brother or sister and are said to be undergoing IVF treatment.

The former ‘Friends’ star and the actor — who tied the knot in 1999 — initially clashed over their family plans because Courteney, 43, wanted to focus on her new US TV show ‘Dirt’.

A source said: “David was ready to start trying for a baby again, but Courteney wasn’t and she had a full schedule of filming to contend with.

“The truth is she didn’t know if she had the energy to go through the IVF ordeal again. It was so hard last time.

“But she’s ready now and hopefully it will be easier this time.”

The pair conceived Coco with the help of fertility treatment. Courteney has previously opened up about her struggle to conceive Coco, who will turn four in June.

She said: “My emotions were all over the place. I’ll probably do it one more time.”

Jennifer Lopez’s new TLC series is not a reality TV show, her manager, Simon Fields, has insisted.

“The recent show Jennifer Lopez plans to produce for TLC is not a reality show,” Fields said in a statement. “It’s a show that will track the creation, production and eventual launch of a new fragrance.

“Jennifer will appear in a creative, entrepreneurial capacity and will absolutely not feature her children and family life.”

The series is currently in production. No air date has been revealed, but Fields says it will be this year

The ‘Jenny From The Block’ star — who gave birth birth to twins Max and Emme on February 22 — recently said she was looking forward to making the show. “I’m looking forward to sharing this exciting journey together,” she said.

Jason Wahler has blasted Spencer Pratt’s recent claims that a Lauren Conrad sex tape exists.

“I do not have a sex tape of Lauren Conrad and one does not exist,” Wahler said in a statement. “Spencer Pratt is lying again to get attention.

“Lauren is my friend,” Wahler continues, “and it is insulting to her to suggest this.”

Angelina Jolie has been left ‘miserable’ due to problems with her pregnancy, it has been claimed.

“Angelina’s having a very hard time, and it’s making her miserable,” a friend revealed to Life and Style magazine. “The babies are heavy, and she’s exhausted from the weight. The pressure can make it hard for her to breathe at times, and she tires out very easily.”

While Angelina is all smiles in front of the cameras, the actress’ hectic work schedule is “taking a toll on her — she feels exhausted when it’s time to get up,” the close source said. “She and Brad tried a special foam-rubber mattress cover, but nothing helped.”

But exhaustion isn’t the only problem Jolie is facing. “Angelina’s been feeling weak and nauseated,” the source added. “She’s upset and disappointed that her nausea returned after going away in the second trimester. And she needs to be very careful about nutrition since she’s been diagnosed with high blood sugar. It’s a very frustrating time for her.”

Jolie, 32, is widely reported to be pregnant with twins. She has three adopted children, Maddox, Pax, and Zahara, as well as a biological daughter, Shiloh, with Pitt, 44.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has defended Glastonbury headliner Jay-Z.

The ‘In My Place’ hitmaker said that he couldn’t understand why people had been saying Coldplay would be a better headline act than the rapper.

He said: “Why would we need to [play Glastonbury], considering the best musician on the planet is headlining?

“I find it pretty embarrassing, all the palaver [over Jay-Z's booking].

“We recently came back to England to find all this all this hoo-hah, grandpas complaining about things they don’t know about,” he added.

“Coldplay not playing and Jay-Z playing is exactly what needs to happen for the world. He’s the best rapper in the world.”

Jay-Z — real name Shawn Corey Carter — is set to play the Pyramid Stage at the festival on June 28.
