Britney Spears‘ former manager, Sam Lutfi, has filed an appeal after being ordered to stay away from the singer for three years.

Lutfi’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, argues that he was only responding to the singer’s “cries for help” to buck her father’s legal control. “Sam’s only crime was trying to help out a friend,” says Freedman, who has argued there is no evidence that the Toxic hitmaker suffered substantial emotional abuse.

The restraining order was requested by Jamie Spears, who has indefinite legal control over his daughter after her two forced hospitalization in early 2008.

Rihanna’s dad has spoken out to quash speculation the star has rekindled her romance with her ex-beau Chris Brown.

Ronald Fenty insists the 21-year-old Umbrella hitmaker has moved on from her bust-up with Brown after returning home to Barbados.

Top Gun star Kelly McGillis has revealed she’s a lesbian, saying, “I’m done with the man thing.”

The married mother — who starred alongside Tom Cruise in the smash hit eighties’ movie — made her confession after fighting rumors about her sexuality for years.

“I’m done with the man thing,” said the 51-year-old. “I did that, I need to move on in life. That’s another part of being true to yourself…that’s been a challenge for me personally.”

McGillis said she has battled with her feelings since her teenage years.

‘I think that accepting my homosexuality was an ongoing process from the time I was about 12,” she explained. “I had a lot of things happened that convinced me that God was punishing me for being gay. That was a hard process.”

Sarah Jessica is worried her husband and son don’t see enough of her.

The Sex and The City star — who is expecting twins via a surrogate mom — admits she feels guilty about working so much.

“It’s been a complicated past few weeks,” Parker told the New York Daily News. “My main concern is that my husband [Matthew Broderick] and son [James Wilkie, now 6 years old] have enough time. I’ve felt very conflicted over the last few weeks.

“Hopefully, our son is feeling loved and taken care of. I can’t really complain because it’s my choice to work, but that doesn’t mean I don’t spend a better part of the day worrying about whether my family is getting enough [time] from me.

“Any complications or any anxiety I feel is normal,” Parker added. “Any mother who wants to continue to work and have a career outside the home goes through this, so I feel very much a part of the sisterhood.”

Guy Ritchie is said to be “over the moon” after his ex-wife Madonna agreed he can look after their children for three months.

The couple’s son Rocco, eight, and adopted David Banda, four, will spend the summer with Guy as Madonna embarks on a European tour.

“Guy absolutely dotes on his children and can’t wait to have them for a whole three months,” a source said.

“He is surprised and pleased that Madonna is being so generous — as she has at times been impossible.

“Madonna will be traveling a lot and agreed it makes sense for them to stay with Guy rather than constantly be uprooted.”

Guy, added the source, will “make it a summer they won’t forget.”

Lady GaGa’s record label have given her a month off work — so she doesn’t go off the rails.

The Poker Face singer, real name Stefani Germanotta, has been working flat-out since last summer.

So her management have cleared her schedule for August to give GaGa time to relax.

“Stefani has been working relentlessly since last summer,” a source told The Sun newspaper.

“She has criss-crossed the globe on numerous occasions promoting her album The Fame and the pressure has now started to get to her.

“At a recent show in Atlanta she nearly collapsed on stage the day after a particularly wild night out.

“Her management have spotted the warning signs and do not want her going off the rails.

“They’ve scrapped all her commitments in August to give her time to get her head straight.”
