PATRICK Swayze’s grieving wife Lisa Niemi has revealed how she left him six years ago when her husband descended into a period of heavy drinking and “very dark thoughts.”

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey — her first since Patrick’s death in September — Niemi says she and Swayze spent most of 2003 living apart from each other.

“He was imploding pretty badly,” Lisa said. “I didn’t think he was going to live through it and I didn’t want to watch that.”

But the couple — who first met in 1970 when Swayze was 18 years old and Niemi, 14 — reconciled and regained their happiness — only to be tested again when the Dirty Dancing star was diagnosed 22 months ago with pancreatic cancer and was told he had three months to live.

“It was mind numbing,” Niemi says. When faced with the devastating information, “You think you’re going to get these terrific illuminations,” she says, but that didn’t happen. “I looked around and I said, ‘This is awful.’”

Niemi also revealed that she’s still struggling to come to terms with Swayze’s death. (continue)

ADAM Lambert debuted his first single, For Your Entertainment, on Ryan Secrest’s KIIS radio show Friday morning.

“It’s dance music with a glam-rock shuffle beat, in the style of T. Rex and Rock & Roll, Part 2, ” the American Idol runner-up told KIIS-FM listeners.

Lambert is now streaming the song on his website, adamofficial.com, in time for the Halloween party weekend.

The single is taken from Lambert’s upcoming debut album, which is also called For Your Entertainment.

Earlier this week, Lambert revealed the “campy” cover for his eagerly-awaited album.

In the artwork, the openly gay star, 27, is seen wearing yellow eye shadow, black eye liner and black nail polish to accent a blue ‘do.

“Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy,” he wrote in a Twitter post Wednesday. “It’s an homage to the past. It IS ridiculous.”

“For those that don’t get it: oh well…Glad to have gotten your attention,” added Lambert. “androgyny. Rock n Roll.”

BRITISH singer Alexandra Burke wants to become a gay icon.

The Broken Heels hitmaker says she’s hoping to follow in the footsteps of Madonna and Kylie Minogue, who both have a large homosexual fan base.

“I would love to be a gay icon, but I’ve got a lot of hard work to do first,” said Burke, whose brilliant debut album, Overcome, recently topped the UK charts.

“I love gay men. They’re the only ones that I can trust,” she added. “My friends Cormac and Dwayne are the most beautiful spirits in my life and I can trust them with my heart.

“Gay males and straight females get along more than women and straight guys.

“My gay friends don’t treat me any differently — they’re just normal and great spirits to be around. And you can be naked in front of them.”

KATE Hudson is trying to change her New York Yankees slugger beau Alex Rodriguez — but it’s proving to be quite a challenge.

According to Us Weekly magazine, Rodriguez is such an egomaniac, he has portraits of himself as a centaur hanging over his bed.

“He was so vain,” one of his ex-girlfriends said. “He had not one, but two painted portraits of himself as a centaur. You know, the half man, half horse figure?”

Meanwhile, Bride Wars star Hudson is reportedly set to dress up as a New York Yankees fan for Halloween.

She has apparently scrapped her annual celebrity Halloween party so she can concentrate all her efforts on cheering her boyfriend on in the World Series on October 31.

“Kate looks forward to her Halloween party and always tries to outdo herself,” a source told American tabloid Life & Style.

“But it wasn’t even a question to do it this year. As much as she would love to invite everyone to her house, Alex is much more important.

“She loves being in love and is planning on building a serious life with him.

“He’s a priority. Something like the Halloween party isn’t.”

“All she does is talk about Alex,” the source adds. “She even plans her movie schedule around him. She’s madly in love.”

LADY GaGa insists she’s still friends with Kanye West — despite the fact the pair canceled their joint Fame Kills tour.

“I didn’t drop Kanye — Kanye and I are friends. We’re still friends,” the Love Game hitmaker, 23, said on SIRIUS XM’s Morning Mash Up on Friday. “When you’re really friends with somebody, you can make difficult decisions, and we made a very difficult decision.”

GaGa and West canceled their co-headlining tour just five weeks before it was set to kick off on Nov. 10.

“It was hard on both of us,” she said.”When we were talking, I said, ‘Even though this isn’t happening right now, I’m going to still go out on the road.

“And he said, ‘Great, I support you.’ And he’s been very supportive.”

“I’m playing [to] just as many people in each city that I would have played on Fame Kills, but the ticket price is much lower,” she said, laughing. “The show is just as expensive… I’m doing what I always do, which is, I go bankrupt.”

“The difference between someone like myself and someone that’s three or four albums deep, is I’m still new,” GaGa added. “And my fans are so amazing and so loyal. TEEN queen Miley Cyrus says the cameo she shot for the upcoming Sex and the City 2 is her biggest career accomplishment.

“It was the best job I’ve ever done,” said the 16-year-old Hannah Montana star. “It was a total dream come true.”

Miley filmed her scene Oct. 17 at NYC’s famed Ziegfeld Theater. She wore the same dress as Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) at what appeared to be a movie premiere for Samantha’s on-and-off beau, Smith Jerrod (Jason Lewis).

“I didn’t end up shooting until 11 p.m.,” Cyrus said on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Friday. “It was awesome — I got a free trip to New York. I hung out in New York all day and then I got to go to the set. I literally shot for an hour-and-a-half, and it was done.

“Working with Kim was really cool. Sarah Jessica Parker was the nicest person in the world.”

HAS Jude Law really rekindled his romance with ex-girlfriend Sienna Miller?

Britain’s Now magazine reported earlier this week that the pair — who started dating after meeting on the set of Alfie in 2004, but split in November 2006 — had been hooking up in New York, where both stars are appearing on Broadway.

“Sienna and Jude have met up a few times and got on really well,” a source said.

“They don’t want any potential reconciliation all over the papers, especially with Jude having just fathered a child with another woman.

“To make it even more convenient, Jude’s starring in Hamlet, one block away from Sienna’s play.

“They’re hoping to meet as much as possible before Sienna finishes her Broadway stint. The great thing about New York is that you get left alone.

“They went to an Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village and nobody batted an eyelid.

“Sienna had her heart broken by Jude, but she was young and it was the first time she’d fallen in love. What people don’t realize is that they always remained close, so who knows where this will lead to next.”

While Law doesn’t deny meeting with his ex, he insists the pair aren’t back together.

“Jude and Sienna are just friends,” his rep said, “and are seeing each other socially occasionally as they are both on Broadway, performing just one block apart.”

ROBERT Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have finished filming New Moon sequel Eclipse, the movie’s director said Friday.

David Slade took to his Twitter page to announce that production on Eclipse — the third installment in the Twilight Saga — officially wrapped in Vancouver, Canada, at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

“Physically and emotionally exhausted,” he wrote.

Eclipse filming ended less than a month before Twilight sequel New Moon is set to open in theaters Nov. 20.

Rob, 23, and Kristen, 19, were recently forced to rumors they had split.

OK! magazine reported Wednesday that Kristen ended things because Rob had been getting too serious too quickly.

“Rob was talking marriage,” dished an insider. “The relationship was also stealing all of Kristen’s attention and keeping her from spending time with her friends and family.

“She told him they need to take a break.”

The magazine also claimed that the pair came to blows about the logistics of a transatlantic romance, with Kristen wanting Rob to make the move to L.A. and the London-born hunk preferring to stay far away from Hollywood.

Kristen’s rep shot down the claims, declaring, “Do you really consider them [OK!] a news source?”

ADAM Sandler will dress up as a woman for his latest movie role.

The 50 First Dates star has signed up for a double role in Jack and Jill, a romantic comedy about twins, portraying both the male and female title characters.

The movie is set to begin filming early next year and is scheduled for release in 2011.

Adam is no stranger to wearing feminine clothes — he recently revealed that he dresses up in princess outfits when he reads his daughters — three-year-old Sadie Madison and 10-month-old Sunny Madeline — fairytales.

“I often slip into costume as the lead character in whatever bedtime story I am reading,” he said.

“This is a little weird because my daughters love Disney princesses. But you would be surprised at how good I look in a ball gown.”

Sandler, 43, also said that he can make people laugh without even trying, meaning he isn’t always taken seriously.

“I was in England doing a TV show with Jonah Hill and towards the end of the show I had to run to catch the plane,” he said.

“I yelled across this big studio full of people, ‘Jonah, I got to go buddy, I got my plane to catch. It was great seeing you, have a safe trip yourself.’ The whole studio laughed about it.

“Even though I told everybody I was serious they didn’t stop laughing. Sometimes I don’t know what I am doing, but people seem to think it’s funny.”

PATRICK Swayze’s wife Lisa Niemi admits she’s still struggling to deal with the actor’s passing — revealing “I feel like he hasn’t left”.

Swayze died September 14 after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

Speaking to Oprah Winfrey in her first interview since Swayze’s death, Niemi recalled her husband’s final days and revealed the couple never talked about him dying.

“We were too positive,” she says. Swayze wanted to believe in God and Heaven but also had doubts. “He had this very realistic side,” says Niemi. “He said, ‘I can’t be 100 percent sure, but I’m going to find out.’”

“When we first had the diagnosis, I cried in front of him,” she told Winfrey. “I said, ‘This is the one time I’m going to do this…’

“When he looked at me and looked in my eyes, I wanted him to know he was going to be OK, no matter what,” she continued. “Both of us had to deal with this illness, but he’s the one that was going to pay the ultimate price.”

On the day he died, Patrick was “very comfortable,” Niemi said, noting that she was by his side the entire time. “I was afraid to leave his side, and luckily I was so happy I was there,” she told Winfrey.

Since his passing, Lisa said she still feels Patrick around her.

“I feel him here. I feel like he hasn’t left. I can feel every contour of his hand in mine,” she said.
