MILEY Cyrus says she’s “deeply saddened” that a man lost his life after a tour bus transporting her crew was involved in a deadly crash outside Richmond, Va., on Friday.

Shortly after the Cyrus family was notified of the incident, they paid their condolences on the Hannah Montana star’s website.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bill ‘Uncle Bill’ Douglas,” the family said in a statement. “Members of our tour are like members of our family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in the midst of this tragedy. He will truly be missed.”

Douglas, 53, an Austin, Texas, native, was driving one of four buses traveling to Greensboro, N.C., where Cyrus is scheduled to perform on Sunday. Douglas’ bus overturned on the interstate outside of Richmond, Va., on Friday, and he died at the scene while the nine passengers on the bus were able to exit through the front windshield.

An investigation is underway to determine exactly why the bus — part of a four vehicle caravan — drifted off the road and overturned.

Officials say the roads were really wet from overnight rain. A man at the scene told TMZ that the bus appears to have drifted off the road for a fairly long stretch before tipping over.

Miley was not on any of the buses. Miley was actually en route to Nashville to spend some time at home before her show on Sunday in Greensboro, N.C. The show is set to go on as scheduled.

RIHANNA still listens to ex-boyfriend Chris Brown’s music — despite the fact he left her black and blue following an altercation earlier this year.

The classy Russian Roulette hitmaker says she doesn’t turn off the radio when Brown’s tunes are played.

“There are a lot of … places that we’ve been to together, music, different things that come up that are reminders of your ex,” the singer, 21, tells the Atlanta radio station Q100. “When [his music] comes on the radio, I don’t … turn it off. I like his music.”

“I’ve gotten over it, but there are definitely constant reminders … songs that were our favorite songs, or hit songs,” she adds.

Rihanna then denied rumors linking her to 90210 star Tristan Wilds.

“This is funny: I had a house party, and you know how you hold house parties and people come over you don’t even know,” she says. “He came by, brought his friends, and everyone was hanging out, but I don’t even have his number. So I don’t know how I could be dating him.”

“I’m a very flirty girl, though,” she adds. “I don’t think I have all the time for a commitment right now, or the energy. A relationship is another life, another career, really.”

SANDRA Bullock almost didn’t make her new movie The Blind Side – because she kept turning down the role!

The Hollywood superstar — who plays a wealthy woman who takes in a homeless teenager who goes on to play college football in the movie, based on on a novel by Michael Lewis — admits she was worried about “messing up” the part.

“I don’t even remember saying yes to the movie,” Sandra revealed. “I kept turning it down.

“Not because I didn’t like it, but because I didn’t know how to do it. I didn’t know how to make it the story that it deserves to be. I couldn’t bring to the role what it needed.

“These are the kinds of roles that actresses can mess up, and that’s one of the reasons I didn’t want to step into it! I didn’t know how to make it as good as the story.”

“I’m glad I did it. It’s still a scary thought for me. I don’t know how I did it, but I had a lot of time to prepare for it.”

Sandra, 45, recently revealed that she had to force herself to go down the gym in order to prepare for her naked scenes in her recent hit flick The Proposal.

“Sadly, my first and last nude scene got laughs,” Bullock said. “I had to be very secure with that.

“When I read it on the page, I realized, ‘Okay, there’s no way to shoot this unless you’re buck naked’, so I decided to go to the gym and cut out the carbs.

“If it turned out funny, though, it was worth it. But shooting it was odd. There are things stuck to you where you generally don’t have things stuck.

“Then you’d get unstuck and oddly, not care because you’re so tired. [Director] Anne Fletcher was like, ‘Your vagina is hanging out. Cover it up’, and I go, ‘Sorry, sorry’.”

THE Twilight Saga: New Moon — which I saw today and LOVED! — broke the record for biggest midnight opening last night, beating The Dark Knight and the top Harry Potter franchise performer.

The Twilight sequel — which stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner — grossed $26.270 million playing at 3,514 theaters for a per theater average of $7,476.

Impressive stuff!

“THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON has set a new record for opening midnight shows with an estimated gross of $26.270 million playing at 3,514 theaters for a per theater average of $7,476,” said a statement from Summit Entertainment. “THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON passes HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE ($22.2 million) to take the number one spot.*  Following POTTER is DARK KNIGHT ($18.5 million).”

In addition to New Moon, Summit re-issued Twilight in theaters.  The film grossed $1.3 million playing at 2,057 theaters for a per theater average of $631.

ONE person has been left dead after a tour bus transporting Miley Cyrus‘ crew was involved in a deadly crash outside Richmond, Va., on Friday.

The Hannah Montana star, 16, was not on any of the buses. Miley was actually en route to Nashville to spend some time at home before her show on Sunday in Greensboro, N.C. The show is set to go on as scheduled.

“It was one of our tour buses, but not Miley’s,” Miley’s manager said. “It was one of our buses that transported our lighting crew.”

Officials also confirmed the driver of the bus was the only fatality — one other person was transported to a local hospital due to injury.

An investigation is underway to determine exactly why the bus — part of a four vehicle caravan — drifted off the road and overturned.

The identity of the deceased will be released once next of kin is notified, according to a release from the Virginia state police.

ROBERT Pattinson and Kristen Stewart managed to catch some alone time in New York Thursday night.

The pair joined the cast of New Moon for the Big Apple screening of the Twilight sequel, but managed to slip away when it came to the afterparty.

Pattinson and Stewart reportedly hit up Avenue, where they dined at a table upstairs with a bodyguard making sure people gave them their privacy.

Rob — who tried his best not to recognized — wore a baseball cap, while Kristen was smoking a cigarette.

According to E! News, the pair were “sitting right next to each other and kept whispering in each other’s ears and laughing together. At one point, Kristen started stroking Rob’s back. And the two were still going strong at the club till 3 a.m.”

Earlier this week, we reported how the pair had a secret dinner with Rob’s parents when they were in Paris, France.

Robert’s aunt Diane Nutley said his parents Richard and Clare “got on like a house on fire” with Kristen.

“They had kept it secret because they didn’t know if they were together or not then,” she said.

Diane also said Robert’s parents will meet with Kristen in LA this week.

ELLEN DeGeneres joked that Oprah Winfrey will give her “all of her money” when she ends her show.

The billionaire media mogul announced Thursday her plans to end her highly rated The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011 after 25 years.

DeGeneres said Winfrey called her with the news and she praised Oprah, saying, “I don’t think I could be here without her. I think she has blazed a trail.

“She will always be the queen of daytime television. She also said she is leaving me all of her money.”

Winfrey, 55, whose current program reaches about 7 million viewers a day, is preparing to start her own cable channel — OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network — in a joint venture with Discovery Communications.

ADAM Lambert plans to incorporate leather, chains and handcuffs into his performance at the American Music Awards.

The flamboyant American Idol runner-up will sing a sexed-up rendition of For Your Entertainment, the first single off his upcoming album of the same name — and Lambert can’t wait to see how the star-studded crowd responds.

“I can’t wait to see people I look up to as artists in the audience watching,” Lambert said Friday.

“I think that will be a trip, and exciting and motivating all at the same time.

“It will be really interesting to see what kind of reaction the number gets. It’s different. It really does have an edge to it.”

The performance also includes Lambert dragging a shackled woman across the stage.

Other artists set to perform at the 37th annual American Music Awards include Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Whitney Houston, Green Day, Lil’ Wayne, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Keith Urban, Jay-Z and Carrie Underwood.

Lambert, 27, recently insisted he’s just being himself with his “androgynous” look.

“Even on Idol, I wear my eyeliner and my black clothes, my little rocker outfits,” said the stylish star. “That’s just how I’ve always dressed over the past couple of years. You can label it however you want — androgynous, glam, emo, Goth. We can put a bunch of different labels on it but I’m just being myself.”
