DAVID Beckham has a guilty secret — he steals his beards from Brad Pitt!

The LA Galaxy soccer superstar — who’s married to former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham — says he is often inspired by the Fight Club actor when it comes to facial fuzz.

“I am finally shaved now,” Beckham said. “I’ve got a little bit of stubble but I’m not like I was a few weeks ago. I saw Brad Pitt and I thought he looked really good.

“He was one of my inspirations and then I started growing it and everyone around me was saying ’shave it, shave it, it looks terrible’ but I am a really stubborn person so I just thought ‘Nah, I’m going to keep it.’ Until people started to turn round and say I looked really good — then I decided to shave it again.”

David recently insisted he and Victoria won’t return to the UK when his soccer carrer comes to an end.

“We have a normal life,” he said. “I can see us living here for a few years.”

The soccer star, 34, has been based in Los Angeles since joining LA Galaxy in 2007, and wants to stay in America when he quits the sport because the couple and their sons Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, seven, and four-year-old Cruz are able to lead a relatively anonymous life in the US.

“We have a normal life,” he said. “I can see us living here for a few years.”

Singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria recently admitted she had found their previous home, Spain, “tricky”, and said living in America made her feel “equal” to David.

“I found Spain a little tricky. But from the minute we landed at the airport, we were equal,” she said. “America is equal, it doesn’t matter whether you are a man or a woman. In Spain it’s more difficult for women.”

Although the couple are settled in Los Angeles, David is set to spend six months in Italy from January after signing a deal with soccer giants AC Milan and recently admitted to how much he hates being apart from his family.

“The biggest thing for me is I go away and leave my family for six months,” he said.

“Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about my children, about my wife and my family and I hate being away from them.”

VICTORIA Beckham loves the fact she and her soccer star husband David are considered gay icons.

The former Spice Girl says she can understand why men fancy the squeaky-voiced footballer.

“I love it! I’m hugely flattered when anyone says they like me, or David. I mean, David is gorgeous,” Victoria told the UK’s Attitude magazine. “I can understand why anyone would fancy him — man, woman, dog, cat; just look at him!”

Victoria, 35, recently revealed that she pays people to read what gets written about her in the press.

“I don’t have any interest in the tabloids,” she said. “I have a great team of people who look out for that kind of thing and they let me know if I should sue someone.

“But generally speaking I don’t hear it and I don’t really care about the criticism because I feel very fulfilled creatively and professionally.

“I don’t like it when people criticize my weight because I know there are a lot of young girls that look up to me, so I consider that incredibly irresponsible.”

SOCCER star David Beckham went a dark shade of red when he was held for three hours at Los Angeles airport this past Thursday.

The LA Galaxy player flew into the city from London and was detained while his 12 bags were searched by officials.

“David wasn’t pleased,” a source told British tabloid The Sun. “He ranted at airport security. He even asked his handlers to do something but there was nothing they could do.”

David Beckham is having elocution lessons to make his voice deeper.

The British soccer star has decided to join his wife Victoria and have intensive voice coaching to improve his accent and deepen his high-pitched tones because he thinks it will help him get more work when his sports career is over.

“David is quite keen to move into TV work when he finally retires, probably after the next World Cup. He’s got the looks and the knowledge, but knows his voice needs work,” a source said.

“Victoria knows being British can be an asset in the States, but only if the American public can understand what you’re talking about.”

Earlier this summer, the former Spice Girl embarked on a series of “facial lessons” and voice classes before appearing as a guest judge on TV talent show ‘American Idol’.

“She wanted to come across the best she could on ‘American Idol’, so she took some private lessons on how to properly pronounce words and how to make appropriate facial expressions,” a source said.

“Victoria is famous for her pout but she herself admitted she wanted to shed that pout for the show to come across more human.”

David Beckham admits he used to be selfish and says he only cured his self-obsession by having kids.

The soccer star — who raises sons Brooklyn, Cruz and Romeo with wife Victoria Beckham — says if it wasn’t for his boys, he would still be only interested in himself.

“I was selfish before,” said Beckham, 34. “Everyone is. Until you have children you don’t realize how much it changes your life and how they become your main priority in terms of making sure they are okay, making sure they are happy.

“Me and Victoria are busy in our jobs and what we do as individuals. But there is nothing that compares to being a father. They are the most special boys in our lives and we would do anything for them.”

Meanwhile, Victoria has revealed that David still makes her feel sexy.

“Yes I still feel sexy,” the former Spice Girl, 35, told Whoopi Goldberg on US TV show The View. “We’re so lucky to have each other. I really feel that with David I’ve met my soul mate. He’s a really amazing father and a really great husband as well, yes I still feel sexy.

“I go to bed with David Beckham every night, I’m trying.”

David Beckham is so desperate to return to the UK, he has bribed wife Victoria in a desperate bid to get his wish.

David has reportedly told Victoria that if she quits Los Angeles, he’ll build her a luxurious fashion wing at their ‘Beckingham Palace’ mansion in Hertfordshire.

“David is desperate to lure Victoria back to England,” a source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper. “He’s very honest with her about his ambitions. These include his dream of being the most-capped player in the history of English football.

“To fulfill this fantasy he needs to play for England in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

“But he knows his wife loves their new life in Hollywood.”

The sportsman has reportedly told the 35-year-old singer-turned-fashion designer — who already has a workshop in London — he will splash out on a lavish extension with mannequins, sewing machines and a mini-runway if she agrees to the move.

David, 34, is believed to be keen to leave his current club Los Angeles Galaxy after he was subjected to abuse from angry supporters.

The athlete has been linked to a number of English teams, including London sides Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

David Beckham has revealed how he and his wife Victoria Beckham keep their marriage alive — they simply make time for each other.

The couple — who raise three sons together — celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary over the summer.

“She always seems to be happy with the gifts that I get her,” David, 34, told US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres.

The luxury pad has a roof terrace, five bedrooms, designer kitchen, home cinema and basement pool, according to British newspaper The Sun.

“Victoria makes no secret of the fact she loves that house. She’s had her eye on it ever since,” a source told the tabloid.

David, 34, recently denied rumors he and Victoria had put their Beverly Hills home on the market. “As far as I know, no,” he said when quizzed about the claims.

“I hope not because I want somewhere to live for quite a few years, so no that’s not true, I’ve heard many rumors about buying and selling houses so it is just another rumor.”

The actor — who is married to Katie Holmes — has been giving David and Victoria Beckham tips on how to keep their marriage alive.

Tom has reportedly been counseling the couple on how best to stay happy while juggling diverging careers.

“After an evening with David, Tom decided to have a friendly chat with Victoria about the family’s future, saying it was because he cared so much about all of them,” a source told Britain’s Daily Express newspaper.

“They love each other dearly but Tom is a big believer in talking about issues . He could see they were both worried about the future and what it might hold.

“He talked to Victoria about David aging, his football career, the pressures of disgruntled fans, his loneliness when away from the family and how time apart is how marriages can fall apart.

“Victoria knows that Tom has a point because she saw how their recent trip to the Seychelles really improved their relationship. It seems his heart to heart made a huge impact on her.”

Showbiz Spy reported at the weekend that Cruise had been giving the Beckhams tips on how to raise their three sons.

“The Cruise impact goes deeper than just the superficial,” a source told Britain’s Now magazine. “The Beckhams even take parenting tips from him — David now makes sure he spends one-on-one time with each of his sons.

“Before, he’d hang out with them all in a group, but Tom said it must be done individually. They also do the ‘five minute time out’ if the kids are acting up, like Tom and Katie do with Suri.”
