Debbie Rowe Praised by Lawyer

Debbie RoweDebbie Rowe’s lawyer is “proud” to have worked with her — because she acted with “integrity and selflessness” while reaching a custody deal with the Jackson family over the custody of the two children she had with ex-husband Michael Jackson.

“The parties engaged in a dignified discussion that resulted in a dignified outcome,” attorney Eric George told Us Weekly magazine Thursday. “The sole consideration between the parties was the best interests of the children.

“I’m proud to have worked with such professionals who represented Ms. Jackson, and I am particularly proud of Deborah for her integrity and selflessness.”

Katherine Jackson’s attorneys, L. Londell McMillan and Diane Goodman, added, “Mrs. Jackson and the family are pleased this matter is resolved and was handled in a caring, thoughtful and courteous manner by the parties and their representatives.

“We were all united in our goals to do what is best for Michael’s wonderful children, and both Mrs. Jackson and Debbie Rowe were on the exact same page. Accordingly, although important issues had to be resolved, this was no legal contest but rather simply a process doing the right thing for the right reasons.”

The custody deal, as confirmed by the lawyers, is as follows: Deborah Rowe shall exercise visitation rights with the two oldest children, Prince, 11, and Paris, 12. The timing, frequency and manner of visits shall be implemented according to the best interests of the children, as determined by a child psychologist selected jointly, and paid jointly, by Katherine Jackson and Deborah Rowe.

The parties have neither sought nor agreed to any compensation to be exchanged, apart from the continuation of spousal support payments that had previously been personally agreed to between Michael Jackson and Deborah Rowe.

The agreement says Rowe has no parental rights to Blanket, Jackson’s youngest child.

TMZ reported earlier today that Rowe wants and will get a psychologist who will visit the children and help them adjust to her being in their lives on a meaningful basis.

Michael Jackson’s Ex-Wife Branded a Drunk!

Debbie RoweMichael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe is binge-drinker who’s not fit to raise kids, it has been claimed.

Rowe wed Jackson in 1996 (he was a patient in the dermatologist’s office, where she worked as a nurse). They divorced in 1999.

Rowe and Jackson had two children together: Prince, 12 and Paris, 11. During her custody fight with Jacko, Rowe agreed to give up her parental rights, insisting he was a good father.

Prince, Paris and Michael’s other son, Blanket, 7, are currently living with their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, at the Jackson family’s mansion in Encino, Calif.

According to one-time close friend Luka Cambio, Rowe drank up to a half case of beer in a day; has a violent temper; and should never be a part of the lives of her son and daughter.

“Debbie drank Coronas all day, and she told me many times, ‘I hate kids! I prefer dogs!’” Cambio American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“One day she took all the photographs of Michael and their children off the walls of her house. Now the pictures on the walls are of her dogs. She often said her dogs were her children.

“Debbie never spoke ill of her children, but she often said, ‘I******* hate kids!”

Cambio reportedly met Rowe when she walked into an aquarium store in North Hollywood where he worked in 2002.

“I had no idea who she was,” added Cambio, who apparently passed a polygraph exam about his claims.

“She had a number of tanks with exotic fish, and she bought fish, coral and food. Over the months, she befriended me and said she wanted me to come out to her place and service her tanks.

“We became friends. And I saw a lot.”

Cambio — a rhythm-and-blues singer, composer and producer using the stage name LuQa — also said Rowe offered to help his musical career.

“She told me she had the connections and would help me. But she never did anything unless it was for herself,” he added. “She’s an utterly self-absorbed, selfish woman. It’s all about her. And that would make her a very bad mother, too.”

Michael Jackson’s Ex-Wife Wants What’s Best For The Kids

Debbie RoweMichael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe isn’t interested in (more) money — she just wants what’s best for the two children she had for the tragic King of Pop.

And as speculation over who what will happen to the kids reaches fever-pitch, Rowe’s close friend, Marc Schaffel — and a former business partner of Jackson’s — insists, “At the end of the day, Debbie just wants what’s best for the children.

“Her interest is that the children are going to be taken care of.

“Does she have to live in a mansion in Beverly Hills? No. Would she probably go to a more secure, gated area if she were to get fulltime custody? Probably.

“Debbie does love those kids. She really does. Absolutely.”

“Debbie’s deal was that Michael would take care of the children,” Schaffel adds. “That’s what she was comfortable with.”

“Obviously, Michael had a very, very bad relationship with his father,” says Schaffel. “[In his will] he didn’t name Joe to watch his children. He named his mother. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that if Michael said in the past that he was beaten and roughed up by Joe, that he wouldn’t want his own children exposed to the same thing.”

Report: Michael Jackson’s Ex-Wife Gets $4 Million to Drop Custody Fight

Debbie RoweMichael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe will receive a $4 million payout — if she drops her custody claim on the superstar’s children.

Last week, a custody hearing was postponed until July 20 to give the singer’s mother Katherine — who has temporary conservatorship — and Rowe time to try to reach an agreement over the kids’ future.

But a source told the New York Post that Rowe will get a hefty settlement from her former mother-in-law, Katherine Jackson, in exchange for giving up her parental rights.

“It’s one final payday,” the insider said. “They felt it was like a ransom-type thing. [Rowe] jumped back into the picture because she wanted money.

“This would be it. This takes away any rights she has to challenge custody at any given time,” the source added.

“If something happens to Katherine, [Rowe] can’t challenge the next [guardian], whether that be Diana Ross or someone in the family.”

In a recent interview, Rowe said Jackson “didn’t keep his end” of their agreement.

“I want my children,” she said during a 90-minute phone conversation with NBCLA.

“I am stepping up. I have to.”

Michael Jackson’s Mom Makes Deal With Debbie Rowe

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, has made a deal with the tragic superstar’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe.

Rowe — who was married to the King of Pop from 1996 – 1999 — agreed to drop her custody claim on Prince Michael I, 12, and Paris Katherine, 11 — her two children with Jacko — as long as Michael’s father, Joseph Jackson, wouldn’t have a say in the kids’ upbringing.

“The last thing she wanted was for those kids to be looked after by Joe and go through what Michael went through,” a source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper.

“Michael [had] poured out his heart about how much he loathed Joe for what he had done.”

Under the tentative deal struck by Katherine and “Miss Debbie” — as she’s known to the kids not Mom — Rowe promised not to pursue a custody battle in exchange for monthly supervised visits, a source told the New York Post. (continue)

Michael Jackson’s Ex-Wife Didn’t Want Kids

Debbie RoweMichael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe “never” wanted to be a mother.

Although Rowe is expected to fight for custody of Prince Michael I, 12, and Paris Katherine, 11 — her two children with the tragic King of Pop — she has previously confessed that she never wanted kids.

“Parenting is an art; you earn the title,” Rowe, now 50, said during a 2003 interview with Us Weekly magazine.

“Because you give birth and impregnate someone does not automatically give you the title of mother or father -– you earn the title,” she added.

Rowe wed Jackson in 1996 (he was a patient in the dermatologist’s office, where she worked as a nurse). They divorced in 1999. During her custody fight with Jacko, Rowe agreed to give up her parental rights, insisting he was a good father.

“My kids don’t call me mom because I don’t want them to,” she said in the 2003 interview. “They are Michael’s children. It’s not that they’re not my children, but I had them because I wanted him to be a father.”

“I didn’t do it to be a mother,” she added. “Like I said, you earn the title. I didn’t change diapers. I didn’t get up in the middle of the night — even when I was there. Michael did it all. I am telling you that he is the most brilliant father. Almost before the baby needed something, he knew what it was. And that’s not for me.”

“If it hadn’t been for how much I love him [Michael] and because of our relationship, I would never have had children,” Rowe continued. “And how spoiled am I? I get to go through the whole experience with a loving, caring person, and I can still have the opportunity to have the life I never thought I would have back again. I am still waiting for that and working on it. I’m the one who feels selfish about having the kids.”

Prince, Paris and Michael’s other son, Blanket, 7, are currently living with their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, at the Jackson family’s mansion in Encino, Calif.

Michael Jackson’s Ex-Wife Will Fight For The Kids

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe wants custody of the two children she had with the tragic King of Pop — and the Jackson family is reportedly keen to pay her off so they can keep them.

“Debbie believes Katherine has a good heart, but the life they would live with the Jacksons is unthinkable,” a source told America’s OK! magazine. “They belong away from the media circus. Kids need fresh air and freedom. They can’t get that at the mansion in Encino.”

“She’s likely to walk away with a lump sum of money if she agrees not to seek custody,” the source added. “She will probably end up with $100 million. It would be worth paying out, from the Jackson family’s point of view, to prevent a tug-of-war for the children.”

In a recent interview, Rowe said Jackson “didn’t keep his end” of their agreement.

“I want my children,” she said during a 90-minute phone conversation with NBCLA.

“I am stepping up. I have to.”

“We had an agreement… he didn’t keep his end,” Rowe said, referring to Jackson’s death. “It hasn’t been easy. It’s been painful.”

Michael’s younger sister, Janet Jackson, has promised to be around for the kids. “She told them if they need her for any reason, even just to talk or if they want pizza, to call her immediately,” the source said.

Jackson, 50, died Thursday (June 25) after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles.

Michael Jackson’s ex-wife Won’t Attend Memorial Service

Debbie RoweMichael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe has backtracked on her plans to attend the superstar’s memorial service.

Rowe — who is mom to Jacko’s two eldest children — was given a VIP spot by the Jackson family.

But Rowe said her attendance would distract from the celebration of the King of Pop’s life. Instead, she will “celebrate Michael’s memory privately”.

Justin Timberlake also will not be there, despite the efforts of Michael’ s brother Jermaine to persuade him to perform.

“Jermaine told Justin he was one of Michael’s favourite performers,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.

“But he decided to pay his respects privately.”

It is believed Sir Paul McCartney, who was asked about performing, could not re-arrange other commitments.

Jackson, 50, died Thursday (June 25) after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles.

His memorial will take place on Tuesday, July 7 at 10 a.m. at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Kobe Bryant, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Usher and Lionel Richie are among the celebrities who will participate.

Michael Jackson’s Ex-Wife to Attend Memorial

Debbie RoweMichael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe will attend the tragic star’s memorial Tuesday.

“Debbie will attend. We just got confirmation last night from the people who are handling the VIP seats that they do have Debbie’s seats and she will be attending,” Marc Schaffel, a former Jackson business associate, said on ABC’s Good Morning America Monday.

Rowe wed Jackson in 1996 (he was a patient in the dermatologist’s office, where she worked as a nurse). They divorced in 1999.

Rowe is the mother of Jackson’s two children — Prince, 12 and Paris, 11. During her custody fight with Jacko, Debbie agreed to give up her parental rights, insisting the singer was a good father.

When asked if Rowe had been in contact with the Jackson family, Schaffel replied, “There has been outreach, unfortunately, like so many cases, there’s so much going on that they just have not been able to make contact.

“There were several tries, just for the fact of phone numbers that had changed, you know, answering machines that were full. Contact had not been able to happen prior.”

As for reports that Rowe is planning on seeking custody of the kids, Schaffel remained coy. “All I can say is the only one that could give an answer to that would be Debbie Rowe’s lawyers, and they’re the only ones that could make any kind of official statement on that or obviously make any statement regarding that,” he said.
