Evan Rachel Wood is rumoured to be dating her True Blood costar Alexander Skarsgard.

The Wrestler actress is said to be so smitten with the actor she even flew to the set of his latest film this weekend so she could spend time with him.

“Evan Rachel Wood and Alexander Skarsgard might be a thing,” a source said. “My friend is working on the set of Straw Dogs, a movie starring Kate Bosworth and Alexander in Shreveport, Louisiana.

“Apparently, Evan Rachel Wood flew in on Friday (September 4) to be with him and they have been hooking up since they met on the True Blood set.

“He was overheard talking about hanging out with her and actually being excited about that.”

The pair were also spotted at a local festival in Louisiana, with 22-year-old Evan taking photos with a disposable camera.

Although Alex, 33, has been linked with Straw Dogs actress Willa Holland, another source says his relationship with Evan has been developing in secret for some time.

“Evan and Alex met, of course, on the set of True Blood, and were able to keep it low key, very underground while they were in Los Angeles,” the source said.

“They never ventured out to pap friendly locations and were only sighted a few times discreetly. So far the relationship is progressing well, they’re having fun together.”

Evan has previously dated a string of stars including Marilyn Manson, Mickey Rourke and Edward Norton.

Evan Rachel Wood doesn’t care what’s written about her in the press — but she worries her family will get upset.

The Wrestler star never reads any tabloids but hates being gossiped about in case her nearest and dearest believe the rumors.

“It’s not my problem. I don’t care,” she said. “I’m going to be who I’m going to be, and if somebody’s got an issue with that I’m sorry. I’m happy. It’s harder that my friends and family have to read [tabloid news about her]. It affects them more and that’s what makes me angry. Life’s too short.”

In a new interview with the Daily Beast, Wood, 21, opened up about her romance with shock-rocker Marilyn Manson, “I was raised thinking that a relationship like that was just completely wrong,” she said. “But I can’t choose who I fall in love with, and I’m not going to not do something that makes me happy just because people disapprove. It seemed natural to us and that was all that mattered.”

Evan Rachel Wood found her latest movie role a challenge — because she had to play dumb!

The Wrestler star plays Melodie in the Woodie Allen movie Whatever Works — and says she found it really difficult to play a stupid person.

“I don’t want to sound pompous saying it, but it was really hard to play dumb,” she says.

But Evan had a great time doing it. “I was worried that she was going to be really annoying or really endearing. There’s a fine line there and I didn’t want to cross it. But I think she’s sweet. I had fun actually. It was kind of nice to not have to come to set and cry every day.”

Wood, 21, recently revealed her fear that Allen would fire her from Whatever Works — after she screwed up her very first scene.

“You hear things about what it’s like to work with him,” she said. “You know — he reshoots a lot, that people will get fired if it’s not working. That he’ll just say, ‘This isn’t working, I’ll recast.’

“Knowing I hadn’t done comedy before, I hadn’t met him, I hadn’t auditioned — the first day I was just convinced I was going to be fired. Sweating. I knew I could do it if I could just keep my nerves under control. But the first scene we shot we ended up re-shooting anyway, so you’re not going to see it.”
