Janet Jackson Didn’t Know Michael Used Propofol

Janet JacksonJANET Jackson insists she was completely unaware her tragic brother, pop superstar Michael Jackson, used Propofol.

The King of Pop died of acute Propofol intoxication on June 25. He was 50.

While Janet admits she knew Michael had a drug problem, she says she didn’t know he touched the drug that ultimately killed him.

In an interview with Robin Roberts, the singer says it was “a shocker” when she found out about the dangerous drug he used to go to sleep — and no one in family knew the extent to which he was using.

Janet also revealed that the Jackson family did their best to stop Michael’s addiction to prescription drugs by staging more than one intervention.

“Of course, that’s what you do,” Janet told Robin Roberts. “Those are the things that you do when you love someone. You can’t just let them continue on that way.”

“We did a few times,” says Janet, the youngest child in the family. “We weren’t very successful.”

The singer says that her brother responded in a measured way to his family’s attempts to help. “He understood that it was out of love, out of caring. But people can be in denial.”

When Roberts follows up to ask if Michael was in denial, she replies, “I wish he could answer this question. And not me.”

Janet Jackson: ‘Family Staged Drug Interventions for Michael’

Janet JacksonJANET Jackson has revealed how the Jackson family did their best to stop Michael Jackson’s addiction to prescription drugs by staging more than one intervention.

In an interview with Robin Roberts which aired on Wednesday’s Good Morning America, the 43-year-old Got ‘Til It’s Gone hitmaker recalled the family’s unsuccessful attempts at helping Michael — who died on June 25 — battle his drugs demons.

“Of course, that’s what you do,” she said.

Janet also blamed Michael’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, for her brother’s death.

“He was the one that was administering,” she said. “I think he is responsible.”

Janet Jackson Not Back With Jermaine Dupri

Janet JacksonJANET Jackson insists she hasn’t rekindled her romance with Jermaine Dupri — despite recent rumors to the contrary.

In a new interview on an Atlanta radio station, Jackson referred to Dupri as her “ex”.

Jackson then included Dupri, 37, on her very short list of ex-boyfriends with whom she keeps in touch.

“I’m not the type of girl that stays in touch with your ex like that,” said the 43-year-old.

“Jermaine is one of my best friends,” she added in a sleepy voice. “I love him to death. We’re still connected. We’re still good friends. We still talk.

“We’re there for one another.

“I think it will remain that way for the rest of my life.”

Janet Jackson Smiles to Hide Sadness

Janet JacksonJANET Jackson says she has a “little law” where she smiles to hide the fact she’s feeling sad.

The Whoops Now hitmaker has revealed how she put on her happy face during her TV interview with Robin Roberts — which will air in America on Wednesday night — because she was quietly sobbing inside.

“She touched upon certain issues. It got a little tough at times… [and] when things get tough I tend to smile,” Janet said.

“It’s not a great habit because you’re talking about a serious topic – and I’m smiling. But maybe that’s my little law.”

The TV chat with Roberts is Jackson’s first since the June death of her brother, pop superstar Michael Jackson.

Janet Jackson Blames Doctor For Michael’s Death

Janet JacksonJANET Jackson says Michael’s doctor, Conrad Murray, is to blame for her superstar brother’s death — and she insists he should no longer be allowed to practice medicine.

“He was the one that was administering,” Janet told ABC in an interview that will air Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 10 p.m. ET. “I think he is responsible.”

Murray — who was Michael’s personal physician — remains the focus of a manslaughter investigation into the King of Pop’s death. He has admitted to administering the anesthetic propofol, but has denied giving Michael anything that should have killed him.

“It’s been a tough year,” Janet said. “You have your days where it’s just really — it’s hard to believe. And a day doesn’t go by that I don’t think about him.”

Jackson recounted the details of the morning of June 25, before she learned that Michael had collapsed, and her world turned upside down.

“I was at my house in New York. You know, another day. Another morning. And I get a call … [my assistant] said, ‘Your brother’s been taken to the hospital. It’s on CNN right now’.

“I called everyone. There’s a line busy or — someone wasn’t picking up. I spoke to mother. I spoke to Tito. I spoke to my nephew Austin. I spoke to my sister La Toya.

“I told them to call me when they got to the hospital. And I remember thinking nobody’s calling me back, so I tried calling again, and that’s how I found out that he was no longer … I couldn’t believe it.”

Jackson said the she and the entire family were in a state of disbelief.

“It just didn’t ring true to me. It felt like a dream,” she said. “It’s still so difficult for me to believe. It’s, you know, you have to accept what is. But it’s hard. You have to move on with your life. You have to accept what is and I understand that.”

Janet Jackson to Marry Jermaine Dupri?

Janet JacksonJANET Jackson will be a married woman this time next year if the latest reports are to be believed.

According to America’s OK! magazine, the Whoops Now hitmaker is planning to wed longtime lover Jermaine Dupri in 2010.

“They hope to walk down the aisle after the first of the year,” a source told the publication.

The Jacksons, added the source, “are keeping their fingers crossed that Jermaine will be an official part of the family.”

The pair — who have dated for almost eight years — were rumored to have split in July this year following the death of Janet’s brother, pop superstar Michael Jackson.

But a source recently insisted, “They never really broke up. Jermaine wanted to give her some space when Michael died.”

Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri Still Going Strong

Janet JacksonJANET Jackson has rekindled her romance with on-off beau Jermaine Dupri, it was confirmed Monday.

The pair — who have dated for almost eight years — were rumored to have split in July this year following the death of her brother, pop superstar Michael Jackson.

But a source says, “They never really broke up. Jermaine wanted to give her some space when Michael died.”

It’s also being reported that the couple are so happy that they are planning a wedding.

But Jermaine has already spoken out to debunk the claims.

“They’ve [the media] been saying that for years and you don’t see a ring on my finger,” he said.

“I guess it just sounds good to have that rumor this time of the year or something.”

Janet Jackson Back With Jermaine Dupri

Janet JacksonJanet Jackson has rekindled her romance with boyfriend Jermaine Dupri.

Janet — who split from Jermaine in July this year after the pair had dated for almost eight years — apparently decided to give the relationship another go because she needed a shoulder to cry on following the June death of her brother, pop superstar Michael Jackson.

“Jeramine has been a rock for her,” an insider told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“He’s doing everything he can to console her over Michael’s death and the rest of it.”

Jermaine, 37, apparently encouraged the All For You singer to join him in Milan for the city’s fashion week in late September. He’s also been buying her lots of presents!

“All his hard work is paying off,” said the source. “Janet is smiling again.”

In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Janet revealed that she hasn’t watched TV since Michael’s sudden passing.

“It will drive you crazy,” she said. “People can have rhinoceros skin, but there’s a point when something’s going to hurt you. Not everyone is stone, stone. I haven’t watched the news in weeks. I had to ask my chef, How’s Obama doing? I haven’t read a newspaper. On top of that, [we've lost] a family member.”

Janet Jackson Not Dressing in Black For a Year

Janet JacksonSources close to Janet Jackson have shot down tabloid reports the singer is set to wear black for a year to mourn the death of her brother, pop superstar Michael Jackson.

Britain’s The Sun claimed earlier this week that Janet decided to dress in dark clothes as a mark of respect.

“Janet, like the rest of the Jackson family, has been left bereft by Michael’s passing,” a source said.

“As a mark of respect she has decided to only wear black clothes to express her grief, and she has had to go on a number of shopping trips to find suitable items to wear.

“She has resolved to mourn Michael’s death for 12 months, and in June next year — on the anniversary of Michael’s passing — her time of reflection will come to an end.”

But a friend of Janet’s insists the story is “a big old yarn”.

It has also been noted that the star was in white and beige at a Ralph Lauren event during Fashion Week in New York City earlier this month. And on Monday, Janet wore a blue dress to amfAR’s Inaugural Milan Fashion Week event.

Michael died on June 25 of acute Propofol intoxication. He was 50.

Janet Jackson ‘Vows to Wear Black For a Year’

Janet JacksonJanet Jackson has vowed to wear black for a year to mourn the death of her brother, pop superstar Michael Jackson.

The singer shared a “special bond” with her older sibling — who died on June 25 of acute Propofol intoxication — and has decided to dress in dark clothes as a mark of respect.

“Janet, like the rest of the Jackson family, has been left bereft by Michael’s passing,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.

Meanwhile, Jermaine Jackson has blasted claims he is trying to “cash in” on his brother’s death by planning a series of tribute concerts.

“That is absurd,” Jermaine insisted. “That is the most ridiculous thing ever. It is not about cashing in on what has happened. It is responsibility on all of our parts as brothers and sisters to keep his legacy alive.

“I would love to see something done in my brother’s honour every year, because he was that well respected around the globe. So for the media to say this is absurd. It is stupid. It is crazy.

“Because we want the world to know we have created this as the Jackson 5 – that was the foundation of Michael’s success, of Janet’s success, of everybody’s. How are we cashing in on something that we created?”
