Lady GaGa: ‘I Fitted in on Gossip Girl’

Lady GaGaLADY GaGa insists her cameo appearance in US TV show Gossip Girl was the perfect role.

The Bad Romance singer — whose episode aired in America earlier this week — says her love of fashion and New York meant she “fitted right in” on the set of the CW drama.

“I love that show,” said GaGa, real name Stefani Germanotta. “I am a true New Yorker and I love fashion too, so I fitted right in.”

GaGa, 23, recently revealed that she’s a dab hand in the kitchen.

“I love to cook,” she said. “I am really good at Italian food because I come from a very Italian family. So I make great meatballs, pasta… Mmmm.”

It was recent claimed that GaGa has her sights on becoming an actress.

“She sees acting as a natural progression in her career,” revealed a source close to the star. “One idea she has is for a rock opera which would be a huge big budget movie made to her own very unique ideas.

“But she is also keen on straight dramatic roles. She has the drive and confidence to make it big as an actress. It’s just a matter of finding time between her first love — music.”

“I have a very raw performance style and [I'm] leaving my heart on the stage every night, and they were giving me so much back in return that when the show was over, I wanted to write. I wanted to make music.”

The Money Honey hitmaker says she’s releasing a cut-price version of her upcoming mini-album in a bid to help fans hit hard by the global economic downturn.

GaGa lovers will have a choice between three different versions of The Fame Monster, which hits stores later this month — including two deluxe discs with bonus tracks and a standard version with all of her new songs, priced at $9.99.

“We may have an economy, but music has no economy,” GaGa said. “I insist on honoring my fans with an affordable new album, an album that is as loyal to them, as they have been me…

“In the midst of my creative journey composing The Fame Monster, there came an exciting revelation that this was in fact my sophomore album. I would not add, nor take away any songs from this EP. It is a complete conceptual and musical body of work that can stand on its own two feet.”

GaGa — whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta recently revealed that she penned her song Speechless for her dad, to try to persuade him to have a vital heart operation.

Speechless was my plea to my father to get this heart operation,” she said. “I sent it to my dad when I was on the road. I said ‘Please Dad’ and he still wouldn’t do it and one day he just started not feeling so good so I dropped everything and sat down with him.

“I told him it was not just his heart at stake, it was all our hearts. I told him if he died I would quit music and mum would not be able to function. And, thankfully, he did it.”

“I took care of my mom and my sister and I took care of me, and he’s gonna be out in a couple of days… Now I feel like I can get back to work.

“For a while I was feeling like I just wanted to give up. This really kinda put things in perspective…

“When this happened I really just kinda said, ‘I don’t wanna do anything for the next two weeks; I just wanna be with my dad and be a good daughter.’”

Lady GaGaLADY GaGa says she’s “discovered lots of things” about herself over the past year.

The Just Dance hitmaker says she’s had a phenomenal 12-months where’s she’s been inspired by her legions of fans.

“The past year, it’s been unbelievable,” she said. “It’s been a phenomenal, inspiring experience.

“I love my fans so much, and more than anything, I discovered lots of things about myself that I didn’t know before through my fans. Because I was giving them so much in my shows.

“I have a very raw performance style and [I'm] leaving my heart on the stage every night, and they were giving me so much back in return that when the show was over, I wanted to write. I wanted to make music.”

“He calls me Loopy. And he says to me ‘Y’know Loopy you never sold out, you never changed who you were or are for anyone.’

“He loves it and appreciates that I am a strong woman with strong opinions. And I am so lucky to have such a supportive family.”

MTV Europe Music Awards 2009 — Winners!

BeyonceBEYONCE Knowles, Lady GaGa and Eminem were among the winners at last night’s MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin.

Knowles took home gongs for Best Song for her track Halo, Best Video for her hit record Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) and the Best Female Singer.

GaGa — who was nominated for five awards — was named Best New Act, while Eminem was named Best Male.

Rockers Kings of Leon left empty handed despite also being nominated for five prizes.

However, the night was deemed a huge success by rapper Jay-Z, who won the Best Urban award and Irish rock band U2, who were given the Best Live Act award.

The renowned music acts raced to the ceremony together after the US superstar made a surprise on-stage appearance with the rockers in front of 10,000 fans at Brandenburg Gate.

Lady GaGa Adores Beyonce

Lady GaGaLADY GaGa says she “adores” Beyonce.

The Love Game singer, 23, says she bonded with the Single Ladies hitmaker when the pair collaborated on Beyonce’s new single Video Phone.

“I had kind of lost faith a little bit in meeting artists in the business — and then I met Beyonce,” Gaga told MTV. “You know she is such a beautiful person, and I gotta tell you, I just adore her.

“She is a real, real woman. I have never laughed so hard on a video set in my life. We had the best time doing Video Phone.”

GaGa recently revealed that her quirky image was inspired by British rocker David Bowie.

“I used to like sit in my apartment for hours and do his make-up on myself over and over again,” she said.

“I am just really happy being single and working on my music and traveling. I think there is a time for that stuff but that time is just not now for me.”
