Leona Lewis: ‘I’m Still Confident’

Leona LewisLEONA Lewis insists her confidence hasn’t taken a dent after she was attacked at a book signing last month.

The Happy hitmaker was punched in the head by a 29-year-old man from South London while she was signing copies of her picture autobiography, Dreams, at a London book shop on October 14.

But Leona is adamant the altercation hasn’t affected her too much.

“It hasn’t affected my confidence at all,” she said. “Obviously it was very shocking and it was a horrible thing for anyone to have to go through, but I’m kind of getting over it now.

“It was so isolated and such a rare thing to happen, but unfortunately it happened to me. I’m moving forward though.”

“You know, bad stuff happens and it wasn’t some random thug who did it. It was someone who was very, very ill and needs help really, so that’s kind of helped me sleep at night,” Lewis added.

“Obviously I’m more aware of what’s going on around me now. I had security there with me on the day, but you could never have anticipated it.

“[But] whether I had one person around me or a million, it still would have happened. I don’t want to go round having loads of people around me though, because that’s just not really me.”

Leona Lewis Turns Down Playboy Offer

Leona LewisLEONA Lewis obviously isn’t desperate for a pay day!

The Bleeding Love singer has reportedly turned down a multi-million dollar deal to pose for Playboy magazine.

Leona was apparently received a $2m offer earlier this week.

Playboy think Leona would make a real statement for them as a magazine, and show they remain relevant in the modern world,” a source told Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper.

“They are prepared to pay through the nose to sign up Leona.

“There is no way Leona will strip however much they offer. For starters, she is just far too shy.”

Last night, a spokesperson for Leona said, “We have no comment on this.”

Leona Lewis Hasn’t Hired Extra Security

Leona LewisLEONA Lewis doesn’t want a huge army of security guards — despite being attacked at a book signing last month.

The Bleeding Love hitmaker says although she was shocked by the incident, she believes it’s unlikely something similar would happen in the future.

“It was shocking. So, so horrible,” Leona told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper. “It’s a shocking thing to happen to anyone — to be attacked by a man, especially as a female. But I am trying to see it as something isolated, something that doesn’t happen often — touch wood — and something that won’t happen again. I have to deal with it.

“I had a little bit of time out immediately after [the attack], time to be with my family and a chance to get over the shock.

“Now I’m just kind of dealing with it and trying to put it behind me.

“As for extra security — well, I’ve tried to keep it pretty much the same.

“I’ve always tried to keep as few people around me as possible because I don’t feel like I need it. But now, after this, I also know that doing this you have to protect yourself a little bit. Being in this industry you are exposed — more so than other people. I know that I have to look after myself as well.”

Leona Lewis: ‘Taylor Lautner is Really Hot!’

Leona LewisLEONA Lewis says she’s “obsessed” with Twilight films.

The Bleeding Love singer, 24, has revealed she is on ‘Team Jacob’ and thinks 17-year-old Taylor Lautner is “really hot”

“I’m obsessed with the Twilight films,” Leona told British magazine Sugar. “Everyone seems to fancy Robert Pattinson, but I’m definitely Team Taylor! I think he’s really hot.”

“I’m totally mad over shows like True Blood,” Leona added. “I’d die if someone asked me to be in something like that. It’d be a dream come true.”

Leona recently insisted that despite her cool and calm exterior, she’s a force to be reckoned with.

“I think when people see that you are shy, or even just calm, collected and reserved, they think you can be pushed around, made to do everything they want — but that’s definitely not true of me,” she told British newspaper The Observer. “The people closest to me know that’s not the case.

“They know I’m not a pushover.”

Leona Lewis Eyes Role as Talent Show Judge

Leona LewisLEONA Lewis says she’d happily return to the X Factor as a judge.

The British singer — who won the 2006 season of Simon Cowell’s smash hit UK TV talent show — told fans during a live web chat that she’d be prepared to go back and sit on the judging panel.

“Maybe. It would be fun,” she said.

“But I don’t know if I’d be a good judge because I’d just say yes and let everyone through. I wouldn’t be able to turn anyone away.”

Leona, 24, will return to the show in a few weeks to perform her new single Happy.

“I can’t wait to meet everyone, but I’m mostly looking forward to seeing the girls,” she said.

“They are aspiring towards the same things as me when I was on the show and are going through a similar experience.”

Leona Lewis: ‘You Can’t Push me Around!’

Leona LewisLEONA Lewis might be a little bit shy — but she’s no pushover!

The Bleeding Love hitmaker says that, because she always remains calm and collected, people assume she’s timid and can be pushed about.

“I think when people see that you are shy, or even just calm, collected and reserved, they think you can be pushed around, made to do everything they want — but that’s definitely not true of me,” Leona told British newspaper The Observer. “The people closest to me know that’s not the case.

“They know I’m not a pushover.”

Lewis admits she finds it “offensive” that the press criticize her for sticking with her hunky boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa, who she’s known all her life.

“I find it very offensive,” she said. “It’s offensive to him — implying he’s not good enough for you any more — but also to you — saying you’re so shallow you’d dump him when you became successful?

“It’s like, seriously? This is real life, it isn’t make-believe. For people to think that you should leave someone because, all of a sudden, you’re a singer and you have opportunities. I feel very sorry for them.

“It does make me angry.

“Because he’s a great person. And it doesn’t matter what you do in life, what your job is, where you come from. None of that matters to me, what matters is who you are as a person — nothing else.”

Leona Lewis Punched ‘By X Factor Reject’

Leona LewisLeona Lewis’ attacker was jealous of her singing career.

Peter Kowalczyk — who punched Leona at a book signing in London on Wednesday — had auditioned for UK TV talent show The X Factor, which Leona won in 2006, but was not good enough to make it through the first stage.

Peter’s father Tomasz said, “He wants to be a singer. He went along and queued up at The X Factor. How far he got with it? Nowhere.”

Peter, 29, was arrested by police shortly after the incident and charged with assault.

On Thursday, he was sectioned under the Mental Health Act and is now at a psychiatric hospital.

Leona — who has released a statement saying she was “extremely hurt and upset” — spent yesterday being comforted by boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa and her father Joe at her London home.

She is said to be devastated following the incident, and can’t bear to be alone.

According to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, Lewis said, “I can’t get his grinning face out of my head. Why did he do this to me? What did I do?”

The 24-year-old singer has decided to increase her security to ensure nothing like this happens again.

“She is petrified,” a source said. “They could have a knife next time. She never really had personal security because she never dreamed anything like this would happen.

“Now she wants a 24-hour security team with plain-clothed guards hidden in the crowd when she goes shopping with friends.”

Peter’s parents have revealed he has a history of mental health problems.

Describing him as “very sick”, they revealed he has anaemia which sometimes affects his mental state.

He had been having weekly music therapy sessions to help him deal with psychological problems.
