Lily Allen to Launch Record Label

Lily AllenLILY Allen will have to put on her business head for her next venture — she’s planning to launch her very own record label.

The British singer — who has spent the past few months complaining about the state of music industry — says she wants to step away from the microphone and take on a more active role behind the scenes.

“I’m setting up a record label at the moment, getting involved in lots of different things,” she said.

“I think things need to change in the music industry and we need to rethink a lot of stuff.”

Lily, 24, was speaking at Monday night’s Q Awards in London where she received Best Track for her single The Fear.

“I was genuinely shocked by the way the whole album has been received,” Lily said of her second album, It’s Not Me, It’s You. “I really didn’t assume I’d win. I think when you start making assumptions then that’s when things start going wrong.”

Lily Allen to Appear on Dancing Show?

Lily AllenLILY Allen is set to appear on Strictly Come Dancing — the UK equivalent of Dancing With The Stars, according to reports.

The BBC apparently beat off competition from ITV’s X Factor to land Lily on the show.

Rod Stewart and Mariah Carey are also set to perform on the ballroom series, reports Scottish newspaper the Daily Record.

“Lily is someone both shows wanted so we’re delighted,” a BBC source said.

“She is just the kind of star who will help attract younger fans to the series.

“And Rod Stewart is another big name we are delighted to get.”

Lily recently revealed that she wants to build her own house, a very big house in the country.

Lily Allen Plans to Build Country Home

Lily AllenLILY Allen plans to enlist the help of her boyfriend so she can build her dream home — a country mansion — in Glastonbury.

The outspoken British superstar — who is dating builder Sam Cooper – has been a regular at the Somerset town’s famous music festival since she was a child, and now wants to build a house nearby — with a felt-covered tent built on the side.

“My plan is to build a yurt on to the side of my country house,” the Smile singer, 23, told Britain’s Q magazine.

“You have the house for traditional living and, of course, running hot water and toilets. But the yurt is full of old Moroccan rugs where you hang out.

“I want to feel like I’m at Glastonbury all year round, with a few home comforts next door.

“Sam is in the construction business so will be able to tell me when my dreams are unworkable.”

Lily Allen Quits The Internet

Lily AllenBRITISH pop star Lily Allen has stopped using Twitter, Facebook and email.

The singer posted her last Tweet at the end of September — and has given away her Macbook and BlackBerry so she isn’t tempted to return.

Lily’s only means of communication with the outside world is a home phone or an old mobile, which she leaves behind if she has got anything fun planned, according to the UK’s Daily Mirror newspaper.

“We thought she was joking, but it’s been a month since she last Twittered,” a source said.

“Before then you could always get a response from her straight away.

“No matter what time of day or where she was, she’d be glued to her BlackBerry. Now you have to leave a message on her home answer phone.

“She does have a clapped out old mobile phone, but you’re lucky to get her on that because she keeps leaving it when she goes out.

“She was so obsessed with the next new thing that it has shocked everyone.

“It’s like she’s back in the 80s.”

Mark Ronson Won’t Work With Lily Allen Again

Mark RonsonLily Allen hasn’t fallen out with her pal Mark Ronson – but the music producer says he’ll never work with her again. EVER!

Ronson — who teamed up with Allen on her debut album Alright Still and to cover the classic Kaiser Chiefs track Oh My God — says he has no intention of getting back in the studio with the Smile singer.

“I can’t go back to working with Lily,” Mark said. “There’s been no falling out, but our creative relationship has ended.”

Ronson recently revealed that he’d quite like to rope in Stevie Wonder when he starts work on his next album.

“I’m going to blow my entire budget on one harmonica solo from Stevie Wonder,” he said.

Lily Allen: ‘I Went Off The Rails’

Lily AllenLily Allen went “off the rails” when she first found fame.

The singer, 24, says her house used to be strewn with vodka bottles, drugs and other paraphernalia — and she used to stay in bed until gone midday.

But Allen insists she has turned her life around and is working hard in a bid to earn enough money to buy herself a country bolthole.

“If you’d come to my place two years ago, I wouldn’t have been up before midday. There would have been half-empty vodka bottles everywhere, drugs, whatever,” she said.

“I definitely let myself go off the rails. Everyone must think I’m a complete t**t. “If I didn’t know me, I’d think I was one. But what 21-year-old is going to say no to free drink and drugs at parties?

“Loads of people take drugs and then get up and work. You can never say never, just not now. “I just want to work, do well and make enough money to buy a house in the country.”

Lily Allen to Live With Boyfriend?

Lily AllenLily Allen is set to take her relationship with her builder boyfriend Sam Cooper to the next level — they’re planning to live together, according to reports.

The pair — who have been dating for several months — have reportedly been house hunting in London.

“They have made inquiries about several terraced properties in Primrose Hill and it’s thought that as well as acting in 2010, one of the investment areas Lily’s looking at moving into includes property,” a source close to the 24-year-old star told Britain’s Daily Express newspaper.

“Sam’s a dab hand at planning and design so it makes sense for him to advise on any business ventures.

“They’re so into each other, it’s very sweet.”

Lily recently revealed that she can’t wait to settle down and start a family, and believes having children will be her biggest accomplishment.

“I’ll be proud once I’ve had kids and they’ve grown up all right,” she said. “I want to do it now.

“I don’t feel like I’m very good at anything in life and I think that’s one thing I probably will be quite good at.

“I don’t necessarily need a man. it’s difficult for me to find someone.”

Lily Allen Performed Gig With Diarrhea

Lily AllenLily Allen once performed a gig while suffering from diarrhea.

The Smile singer says despite desperately needing to go to the toilet during a show in Seattle, she still took to the stage — and it was the worst concert experience she has ever endured.

“I came down with diarrhea but I still went on, I was desperate to do a poo the whole way through — at the end of the show I went to the toilet and it would not stop, the crowd were going “Lil-y! Lil-y!” for an encore… I didn’t feel I could send anyone out and say, ‘Will you lot just shut up, she’s having a c**p’, but that was the truth,” she told the November edition of Q magazine.

Meanwhile, Lily has denied she’s retiring from music. The singer had posted a message online declaring that she had no plans to make another record.

The 24-year-old, who has embarked on a high-profile crusade against music piracy, wrote that she could no longer make money from singing — but the comments were later removed.

But her rep said, “Lily is not retiring from music. She is still promoting her current album which is why she said she is not thinking about her next record right now.”

Lily Allen Not Quitting Music

Lily AllenIt looks like Lily Allen’s had a change of heart!

The singer recently took to her blog to announce her retirement from the music industry.

“Just so you know, I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record. I do however remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade,” she wrote.

“The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as I’m concerned, so I don’t stand to profit from legislation. Except future purchases of previously recorded material.”

But Lily’s publicist has now spoken out to insist the 24-year-old star won’t be turning her back on music and is not thinking about her next record as she is still promoting her second hit album, It’s Not Me, It’s You.

“Lily is not retiring from music,” said the spokesperson. “She is still promoting her current album which is why she said she is not thinking about her next record right now.”
