TALK about a pampered pooch!

Mariah Carey has revealed how she flew her personal vet from Los Angeles to New York to help her beloved Jack Russell deliver puppies.

However, the Touch my Body hitmaker admits she missed the birth — because the dog waited until her famous mommy flew to London for a series of promotional events before going into labor.

“My puppy just had a puppy,” Carey said. “She’s the most adorable Jack Russell terrier. We were worried because she was little, so she had to have a C-section and I missed the whole thing!

“I flew this vet, a lovely lady, all the way from L.A. to N.Y. and back and forth and the dog didn’t have the puppies. I wanted to see the birth so, of course, when we got here [London] she had her babies.”

Mariah recently insisted she gets called a diva because journalists are lazy.

“At its heart, I think it’s lazy journalism,” the star told a British newspaper when asked about her reputation as a diva. “I was on the first Divas Live show and that seemed to kick the whole thing off.

“You know, my mother — who was an opera singer — used to use the term as a compliment; it meant a very talented singer. But I looked it up in the dictionary recently and now it also means a difficult and demanding woman.

“I guess people like to put you in a little box, and that box fits me because I have the big hair, and I wear the tight dresses on stage. But that doesn’t mean I’m difficult or nasty.

“I remember a story in the British press, saying I’d demanded rose petals be scattered on the carpet of a London hotel when I arrived. The truth is, we’d just landed, it was 3am and all I wanted to do was go straight to my room.

“The back entrance would have been fine, never mind rose petals! I’d never ask for anything like that. But that sort of stuff is written about me, so I’ve just learnt to shake it off.”

THE global economic downturn certainly isn’t stopping Mariah Carey from enjoying herself!

The pop diva — in London to promote her new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel — has reportedly splashed out over $300,000 on an angel-themed party.

The bash will apparently take place the British capital’s plush Jalouse club.

“It’s the party everyone is talking about,” a source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper. “Mariah is so excited.

“It’s incredible to think the world’s best-selling female artist can’t wait to meet Diversity –he fell in love with their moves from YouTube clips.

“She’s going all out to make sure it’s going to be a party to remember.

“She’ll be arriving in a customised $500,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom that has an ice-white leather interior with faux-fur — it’s a favourite of her pal 50 Cent when he’s in town.”

MARIAH Carey’s weight has “exploded” over the past year, it has been claimed.

The Touch my Body hitmaker has apparently piled on a whopping 42 pounds since getting married last year — and her pals are ordering the 177 pound star to shape up.

“Mariah’s weight has exploded,” a source close to the singer told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“When Mariah and Nick married in April 2008, she weighed 135 pound.

“But once she settled into married life and got comfortable, Mariah gave up the steamed veggies and broiled fish diet and the Pilates and water-aquatics workouts.

“Over the past year, Mariah has been gorging on mac ‘n’ cheese, fried chicken, caviar, surf & turf and flutes of champagne.

“From day one, Nick said he likes Mariah thick or thin, but lately, even Nick is urging her to rein in her partying, cut back on alcohol and start counting calories.

“She is in danger of passing the 200-pound milestone if she doesn’t get her weight in check.”

MARIAH Carey admits she’s been in an abusive relationship.

The Touch my Body songstress — who wed actor-and-rapper Nick Cannon in 2008 — opened up to talk show host Larry King about how she has been affected by the struggle she faced in previous relationships and hinted her ex-husband, music mogul Tommy Mottola, was responsible for her ordeal.

“Abuse has several categories,” she said. “Emotionally, mentally, in other ways. I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in.

“If your situation is similar to one of the situations I’ve been in, which I won’t harp on.

“For me, to really get out, it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life.”

Mariah wed music executive Tommy in 1993 after he signed her to the music label CBS Records. They separated just three years later and divorced in 1998.

Carey also spoke out in support of fellow singer Rihanna, who was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown earlier this year following a pre-Grammy’s party.

“I was very sequestered, as you know, when I first started out and if I were just allowed to be young and with a young boyfriend who’s also a star and you know, you’re working and you’re both — I don’t know what goes on,” she said. “You know what I mean?

“So it’s like, I wasn’t really allowed out of the house, so I can’t imagine what she went through.”

Carey recently hit out at “lazy” journalists for branding her a diva.

The singer says the panning from critics for her performance in the flick left her so distraught, she was hospitalized amid an emotional breakdown.

“Being here is definitely a milestone. But I had one milestone that almost had me under this stone,” Mariah told Fox News at the AFI screening of Precious on Sunday night.

“I didn’t realize you really have to be selective with the people that you work with and you have to have that support system and you have to work with people that you feel are geniuses.”

Of de-glamorizing in Precious, Mariah said, “When it first saw the film I thought I looked hideous, I felt completely rancid. I’ve kind of gotten over it… Have I gotten over it?”

“This was such a liberating experience and yet humiliating,” she added. “But I needed that.

“We all need that, we need to understand how to be humble and it’s a difficult business to do that in. But I’m definitely inspired to work out of my comfort zone after this.”

MARIAH Carey isn’t a diva — but her dogs are!

The pop superstar says her Jack Russell pooches Cha Cha and JJ had their own entourage on hand while filming a recent commercial.

“My puppies are starring in this ad with me, too,” Mariah told Britain’s Hello! magazine. “I had my team with me but the pups had a mini entourage of their own, of course! And why wouldn’t they? It was a big shoot and even my entourage had an entourage — my stylist had an assistant, my security had extra security.

“The shoot was based on the fact that some people think I’m a demanding diva. I have no idea why people have that impression!”

Carey recently revealed that she feels “baffled” by her “demanding” reputation.

“I am baffled, shocked and appalled when I am called a diva. I’ve never done one diva-ish thing in my life. The actual definition of a diva is a woman who sings well,” she said.

“The secondary definition is a woman who is difficult to deal with. I hope I am the first, but I really don’t think I am the second. I don’t believe I am truly nasty and act in a bad way.”

MARIAH Carey’s marriage to Nick Cannon is on the rocks because of her constant boozing, partying and inability to get pregnant — according to a new report from American tabloid the National Enquirer.

The magazine claims that Cannon is fed up with Carey’s parting and it’s driving a wedge between the couple.

“Right now the situation is potentially explosive,” a source divulged.

“They’re still very much in love, but their problems are beginning to affect their marriage.

“Nick is demanding that Mariah cut back on the partying immediately.

“Nick hates that he’s left to clean up the mess.

“The day after her boozing sessions is a nightmare for Nick because Mariah sleeps much of the day and then wakes up in a foul mood, and they end up fighting.”
