Sandra Bullock Kept Turning Down Blind Side Role

Sandra BullockSANDRA Bullock almost didn’t make her new movie The Blind Side – because she kept turning down the role!

The Hollywood superstar — who plays a wealthy woman who takes in a homeless teenager who goes on to play college football in the movie, based on on a novel by Michael Lewis — admits she was worried about “messing up” the part.

“I don’t even remember saying yes to the movie,” Sandra revealed. “I kept turning it down.

“Not because I didn’t like it, but because I didn’t know how to do it. I didn’t know how to make it the story that it deserves to be. I couldn’t bring to the role what it needed.

“These are the kinds of roles that actresses can mess up, and that’s one of the reasons I didn’t want to step into it! I didn’t know how to make it as good as the story.”

“I’m glad I did it. It’s still a scary thought for me. I don’t know how I did it, but I had a lot of time to prepare for it.”

Sandra, 45, recently revealed that she had to force herself to go down the gym in order to prepare for her naked scenes in her recent hit flick The Proposal.

“Sadly, my first and last nude scene got laughs,” Bullock said. “I had to be very secure with that.

“When I read it on the page, I realized, ‘Okay, there’s no way to shoot this unless you’re buck naked’, so I decided to go to the gym and cut out the carbs.

“If it turned out funny, though, it was worth it. But shooting it was odd. There are things stuck to you where you generally don’t have things stuck.

“Then you’d get unstuck and oddly, not care because you’re so tired. [Director] Anne Fletcher was like, ‘Your vagina is hanging out. Cover it up’, and I go, ‘Sorry, sorry’.”

Sandra Bullock Doesn’t Chase Film Roles

Sandra Bullock SANDRA Bullock puts her family before film roles.

The Hollywood superstar — who’s married to adrenaline junkie and Monster Garage host Jesse James – says she enjoys being a wife and step-mom more than being an actress.

“I realize it when I’m staring at a stack of scripts and I can’t bear to open them,” she said.

“I don’t want to step in that world right now, I want to enjoy where I am. I want to enjoy the ride instead of blasting forward and trying to fill a void that doesn’t exist.”

Sandra, 45, recently revealed that the nudity in her summer movie The Proposal helped the flick succeed.

“We had all the right people, the right elements in the right place,” she said of the movie’s success. “But if I’m honest I think nudity had a great deal to do with it. People liked it.”

Sandra Bullock Should be Kept Out of Custody Battle — Her Husband Says

Sandra Bullock SANDRA Bullock’s husband Jesse James is furious his famous wife has been dragged into the bitter custody battle between himself and his porn star ex-wife Janine Lindemulder.

Lindemulder claimed earlier this week that Bullock was trying to take her daughter away from her.

“What would give her the right to take away my daughter?” she said in an interview Thursday with ABC’s Good Morning America. “You know, this is my daughter. I am the best mother I can be.”

Sandra, 45, has been helping Jesse, 40, raise 5-year-old Sunny since January while Janine — star of films such as Mrs Behavin’, Sleeping Booty and Dyke Diner — was in prison.

James’s attorney Marilyn Slifman calls Lindemulder’s remarks “inaccurate and unfortunate.”

“Sandra Bullock is not a party to this litigation,” Slifman said in a statement to People magazine. “Mr. James’s sole concern is for the safety, welfare and best interests of his daughter. The proper forum to resolve this case is in the courtroom.” (continue)

Sandra Bullock: ‘Nudity Helped The Proposal Succeed’

Sandra Bullock and Ryan ReynoldsSANDRA Bullock is adamant her summer movie The Proposal was a box office smash because it contained nudity.

The actress stripped off to play opposite Ryan Reynolds in the flick and she’s quite sanguine on the effect it had on audiences.

Bullock, 45, recently revealed that she ditched her blonde highlights because her husband Jesse James didn’t like them.

“I like blonde highlights. If I did change my hair for good, I would have to change my whole wardrobe,” Sandra said. “There was a very important person — mainly my husband — in my life who just didn’t want me being blonde, thank God!

“There was not an appreciation. There was a little person who thought I looked like an angel, and there is a big person that said, ‘I don’t like the blonde on you, take it off.’ And you want him to say that. But that’s what’s fun about it.”

Sandra Bullock Custody Battle Continues

Sandra Bullock SANDRA Bullock says she was forced to drastically reduce her workload to help her husband Jesse James look after his daughter, Sunny, while his ex-wife Janine Lindemulder was in prison for tax-evasion.

Bullock was recently dragged into the bitter custody battle between James and Lindemulder, star of films such as Mrs Behavin’; Sleeping Booty and Dyke Diner.

Sandra, 45, has been helping Jesse, 40, raise Sunny since January while mom Janine was in prison.

In a letter to the judge at Lindemulder’s sentencing, Bullock alleges the child was left alone during the day while Lindemulder was “asleep from drug use.”

“I am aware that Janine has claimed many times that my desire to have [the girl], was because I could not have children of my own,” Bullock says, adding, “that couldn’t be farther from the truth.”

“I myself have stopped working like I used to in order to be here with Jesse and the kids because we are on constant high alert,” she writes, “never knowing what condition Janine will be in, and even more concerning, the condition [the girl] will be in.”

But Janine disputes Sandra’s claims. (continue)

Sandra, 45, recently revealed that she’s impossible to live with.

“Listen, I know I’m not easy to deal with. I’m controlling, and I want everything orderly, and I need lists. My mind goes a mile a minute. I’m difficult on every single level. I’m aware that I can be annoying,” she said.

“I never did anything according to what anyone else wanted.

“That’s why I think I am happy. I do everything 100% — even my stupidest missteps. I know when I’m getting ready to mess up, I’m going to do it full-on. That’s the way I was as a kid.

Sandra Bullock Admits She’s Selfish

Sandra Bullock EVER wondered why Sandra Bullock never had kids of her own?

Selfishness.

“I was good at bolting before,” Bullock told Parade magazine, referring to her attitude towards relationships before she married hubby Jesse James.

“I didn’t want to do the work. And I was too selfish to have kids. Now I work at what I love.

“If I didn’t love him, I wouldn’t be putting in the effort. I do approach things differently now that I’m married. I would never do anything that would harm his heart.”

The 45-year-old also admitted that she’s impossible to live with.

“Even into adulthood, I look back at some things and go, ‘I can’t believe I did that.’ But I can also go back and say, ‘I did that, I know I’m responsible for that, and I can make amends,’ and we can all laugh at it, because it’s my mistake. I try not to blame it on anyone else unless I fully know it was their fault–and then I have no problem pointing the finger.”

Sandra Bullock: ‘I’m a Nutty Control Freak’

Sandra Bullock SANDRA Bullock is nutty, likes to be in control and knows she’s difficult to deal with.

The actress says despite her adorable onscreen persona, she is actually very driven.

“I like to iron,” Bullock tells Parade magazine in its upcoming issue. “Ironing is comfort. It’s control. I’m a nutty person who likes to make sure everything is in its place. I am a big ball of high energy and organization and structure. Don’t forget, I’m half-German.

“Listen, I know I’m not easy to deal with. I’m controlling, and I want everything orderly, and I need lists. My mind goes a mile a minute. I’m difficult on every single level. I’m aware that I can be annoying.”

“I never did anything according to what anyone else wanted,” Bullock says of her unconventional nature. “That’s why I think I am happy. I do everything 100% — even my stupidest missteps. I know when I’m getting ready to mess up, I’m going to do it full-on. That’s the way I was as a kid.

“Even into adulthood, I look back at some things and go, ‘I can’t believe I did that.’ But I can also go back and say, ‘I did that, I know I’m responsible for that, and I can make amends,’ and we can all laugh at it, because it’s my mistake. I try not to blame it on anyone else unless I fully know it was their fault–and then I have no problem pointing the finger.

“I have to fight every single day to live my true life. I don’t ever want to come home saying, ‘I should have spoken my mind. I shouldn’t have let someone say something that I didn’t feel was right.’ [But] I have to remember that there’s a balance. I’m in the entertainment business. We’re here to entertain people, to make them laugh and forget.”
