VANESSA Hudgens and Zac Efron haven’t called it quits — despite reports to the contrary.

In its latest issue, American tabloid the National Enquirer declares, “Zac and Vanessa Finished — she just doesn’t know it yet.”

But sources close to the couple — who met while making the first High School Musical flick in 2005 — insist Efron, 22, and Hudgens, 20, are still going strong.

“They spent months together up in Vancouver, where they are both filming movies,” one insider told Us Weekly magazine.

“Things are going well with them. They are happy.”

Vanessa Hudgens has developed an annoying habit since starring in Disney’s popular High School Musical movie franchise — she breaks out into song halfway through a conversation!

The actress — who played Gabriella Montez in the films — admits she is always that irritating person in a crowd who will just start singing but she just can’t help it.

“I hope people don’t expect that I always break out into song mid-conversation — but I normally do anyway,” Vanessa revealed.

“When people hear someone singing and they look to see who it is — it is usually me. I can’t help it — that’s what being in musical movies does to you.”

Vanessa, 20, recently revealed that she “freaks out” when she has to hit the red carpet for movie premieres.

“[I do get nervous] on the red carpet — all the time!” she said.

“Everyone’s screaming your name, so I always get butterflies in my stomach.

“It totally freaks me out!”

Sources close to Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have shot down claims the couple is on the verge of a split.

Zac Efron has spoken out to quash speculation he’s engaged to girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens.

Britain’s News of The World newspaper on Sunday quoted Hudgens, 20, as saying, “We haven’t set a date and if we did we’d keep it secret for as long as possible.

“Why? What if one of us was offered a major film part? Then we’d have to postpone our marriage and people would say we’d split up. And we don’t want that.”

Reports earlier in the year claimed Efron proposed to Hudgens during a joint trip to Japan in late January.

“Zac is relieved to be out of the pressure cooker, because Vanessa’s mom Gina has been putting serious heat on him to make an honest woman of her daughter,” a source said at the time.

“She is old-school and doesn’t approve of Vanessa living with Zac without some type of wedding promise.

“Zac really loves the current arrangement. He adores Vanessa, and they gel really well together.

“Gina already considers Zac part of the family, so she’s happy that he proposed.”

But in a statement, a rep for Efron insisted the engagement rumors are “not true.”
