Damn we hate to be right all the damn time, but our sources are just that damn good!

It is now confirmed over a month after we first reported, that John Wick director David Leitch will in fact be the director for Deadpool II.

20th Century Fox has confirmed that David Leitch (John Wick Director) has been awarded the job and accepted. Ryan Renolds is also said to be super excited in working with David, who has taken the John Wick movies to the next level. In yet another bit of movie news that Showbiz Spy broke first… after viewing the footage of John Wick 2, the money men told him to start working on part 3 immediately with open pocketbooks.

Shortly after Tim Miller’s exit, rumors surfaced that the director disagreed with actor/producer Ryan Reynolds on the casting of Cable. During the post-credit scene of Deadpool, the Merc With the Mouth reveals that Cable, the iconic X-Force leader from the Marvel Comics, will be featured in Deadpool 2. Tim Miller reportedly wanted to cast Bloodline star Kyle Chandler as Cable, which Ryan Reynolds disagreed with. Ryan Reynolds wanted the character to be closer in age than he was in the comics, and the actor thought that Kyle Chandler was too young to pull off the Cable role. While Cable has not been cast yet, there was talk that the sequel was getting close to casting another key role before Tim Miller left.

We are super excited to see what David does with the Deadpool movies, and according to those close to Ryan Reynolds, he is geeked about the change.

Deadpool made history by becoming the highest-grossing R-rated movie in history by taking in $782.6 million worldwide. Deadpool 2 will bring back Ryan Reynolds as the Merc With the Mouth, but no other Deadpool cast members have been confirmed to return, such as Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller or Brianna Hidenbrand. There are rumors that Brianna Hildenbrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead could also cross over to The New Mutants movie 20th Century Fox is developing.
