Avery, who has abruptly risen to fame following the December 18th release of the Netflix documentary “Making a Murderer,” filed documents in 2009 claiming that his brothers, Earl and Charles, could be guilty of the crimes in which Steven is currently spending life in prison for being convicted. The documents site brothers Earl & Charles accused of multiple counts including sexual assault of Earl’s two daughters at the hands of their father & other aggressive and disturbing behavior by both Avery brothers.

Steven Avery also sites that his brothers may have a motive in helping frame him because of a dispute over the family junkyard business and jealousy over a multi-millionĀ settlement Steven was about to receive as the result of being wrongfully convicted of sexual assault. A crime in which Steven Avery spent 18 years in prison for. Could his brothers be responsible for the previous sexual assault as well?

Teresa Halbach was a 25 year old photographer for Auto Trader magazine when she was last seen on the Avery property, taking photos of a van he planned to list in the popular car publication. Remnants of her body was later found in a burn pit on the Avery property, but no evidence of Teresa Halbach’s DNA found in Avery’s trailer where the crime supposedly took place.
