Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is a festival where music and fashion meet in the middle of the southern California desert for two weekends every April. This year’s festival begins Friday April 15, 2016. Coachella is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA. The venue was first used by Pearl Jam to boycott venues using Ticketmaster.

The tradition of rockin’ out in the desert will continue this year with headliners Guns N’ Roses. It’s not cheap to see the legendary rockers and the many other performers. Festival goers pay $399 for a general admission wristband. More exclusive VIP experiences go for thousands. For those that can’t make the trip or afford the shows Coachella will be streaming live this year on YouTube, GNR will preform at 10:30pm pt.

Though Rose and Slash had sworn to never work together again, “not in this lifetime.” It seems as though in 23 years time has healed, or at least scarred over old wounds. Last year on CBS this morning Gayle King interviewed Slash and asked about getting the band back together for a reunion tour, “If everybody wanted to do it, and do it for the right reasons, I think the fans would love it,” Slash replied. “And I think it might be fun at some point to try and do that.” Source: CBS

Rumors swirled and by the New Year fans were wanting confirmation from Rose on the status of a reunion. Rose hilariously trolled twitter users with this tweet.

A few days later he tweeted the confirmation fans had waited to see.

On April 1st the band announced their NOT IN THIS LIFETIME 2016 TOUR on the band’s website with dates and venues.

“LOS ANGELES (April 1, 2016) – Following months of intense rumor, speculation and feverish excitement from rock music fans around the world, Guns N’ Roses confirmed today they will embark on a massive North American summer stadium tour as founder Axl Rose and former members, Slash and Duff McKagan regroup for what will be one of the century’s most anticipated musical events.”

On March 25, the band released a teaser with city dates so fans knew the reunion was coming. We reported back then that the band had already scheduled two warm-up performances in Vegas before Coachella.

On April Fool’s Day the band had another surprise for fans. Early morning on the 1st, GNR announced they were doing a surprise concert that night at the Troubadour Night Club. Less than 500 tickets were available for $10 each. It sold out in minutes. Some that got tickets ended up reselling them for thousands. In videos on YouTube of the performance Rose sounds good, Slash still kicks ass and the crowd sang along so loud there were times you could barely hear Rose.

Rose is determined to make this comeback tour work. After performing at the Troubadour he was diagnosed with a broken foot. He posted the information from his doctor explaining the injury on various social media platforms including the band’s Facebook page.

“This is what can happen when you do something you haven’t done in nearly over 23 years.”

Dave Grohl, of the Foo Fighters, former drummer of Nirvana stepped up to help Rose with his foot injury. Grohl let Rose borrow his “Throne” he used on tour when he broke his leg. Rose announced to fans in Vegas that it was all Grohl’s idea and that he was grateful. Saturday’s show in the dessert will be GNR’s 3rd performance. They’ll be doing another twenty-something shows in cities throughout the summer.

Once the tour concludes, Rose may be on to another tour. There have been rumors of Rose joining AC/DC for the remaining dates on their tour. You may remember we told you back in March that AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson would no longer be touring with the group. Axl has been rumored to be a possible guest singer on the band’s remaining tour dates. There has never been any confirmation or acknowledgement from Rose or AC/DC but our spies tell us they’re waiting to see how he holds up before anything is finalized.

Opening for Guns N’ Roses Saturday night is, “That Crazy M*ther F*cker named Ice Cube.” Cube is coming off the success of “Straight out of Compton” and NWA’s recent induction to the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame. This weekend his latest movie, Barbershop: The Next Cut hits theatres.
