CONFIRMED: After Guns N’ Roses Killed it at Coachella, Axl Rose is Named Replacement Singer for AC/DC

Here at Showbiz Spy we’ve been following this story for quite a while. We first reported in March that Brian Johnson would no longer be touring with AC/DC. Later we reported on rumors that Axl Rose may be replacing Johnson for the remainder of the tour. Though rumors swirled and photos surfaced of Axl and the band together nothing was confirmed until Saturday night.

Late Saturday night Axl hit the stage at Coachella with the rest of his Guns N’ Roses band mates. They absolutely killed their performance! Rose sounded as good as ever and did an incredible rendition of “November Rain” on piano. He was limited in movement due to his broken foot but still managed to give the crowd the performance they’ve waited 23 years to see.

At about the same time GNR hit the stage AC/DC announced on their Facebook page that Axl Rose would be joining them on tour. They thanked former lead singer Brian Johnson for his service to the band and stated, “We are dedicated to fulfilling our touring commitments to all that have supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment.”

Rose has not commented on the news and has not been on social media since he tweeted before Saturday’s show. It appears the tweet was his own way of announcing his AC/DC gig. Before hitting the stage he tweeted:

Seems random but fill in the blanks and you get AC/DC. That’s a very clever tweet Axl, very clever.

So there ya go, two ways to see Axl Rose perform with two iconic bands; Guns N’ Roses, and AC/DC. Talk about one helluva comeback. Congrats and welcome back to Rock n’ roll Axl, we’ve missed you.
