Weinstein Slams Rumours of Feud with Moore

By WENN, May 16 2008

HARVEY WEINSTEIN has hit back at reports MICHAEL MOORE is releasing a FAHRENHEIT 9/11 sequel through another production company because of an ongoing feud with the filmmaker.

Rumours of a rift between the pair surfaced earlier this month (03May08) when the Oscar winner announced he had signed a deal with Paramount Vantage and Overture Films to make the second installment, instead of the Weinstein Company, which put out the controversial 2004 original.

It is believed the rift began because Moore was unhappy with the way the film mogul had marketed his 2007 documentary Sicko, according to the New York Daily News.

But Weinstein has refuted the claims and insists he and his brother Bob were "flattered" to take on the smaller role of executive producers for the forthcoming film.

Weinstein says via a representative, "We have a great relationship with Michael."
