Swayze Denies Point Break Comeback

By WENN, May 28 2008

PATRICK SWAYZE is baffled by claims he is taking time out from cancer treatment to star in a sequel to 1991 surfing movie POINT BREAK.

W. Peter Iliff, who wrote the screenplay for the original movie, has penned a follow-up, and insists Swayze will reprise his role as bank-robbing surfer Bodhi and co-star Keanu Reeves is onboard to play F.B.I. agent Johnny Utah.

He tells Us Weekly magazine, "We always wanted Patrick to return. He'll definitely be surfing."

Swayze was diagnosed with deadly pancreatic cancer last month (Apr08), but Iliff adds of the actor's health: "Things are going well, he's fighting the good fight."

On Wednesday (28May08) Swayze issued a statement revealing he is responding well to cancer treatment - but his representative insists he will not be taking part in a Point Break sequel.
