Mayer Pays Tribute To 'Talented' Wentz

By WENN, May 30 2008

Singer JOHN MAYER has written a gushing tribute to FALL OUT BOY star PETE WENTZ - insisting he "thinks the world" of the "talented" bassist.

In a post on his website Mayer congratulated the 28-year-old on his recent marriage to pop star Ashlee Simpson and praised his creativity, talent and humble attitude.

The pair became pals when they recently hooked up to record a cover of Michael Jackson's Beat It together - and have been firm friends ever since.

And Mayer was determined to let the world know how much he values Wentz.

He writes, "You're one of the best eggs in the music industry, hands down. With as much talent as you have, I'd expect you'd have some eccentric ego, but from what I can tell you seem to have none. (That actually makes you more talented.) I'll throw a guitar in the car and be there anytime you need me.

"I think the world of you. And wish you all the happiness your artsy head will accept. Fame is just one big lesson in being a man, and you're doing a bang up job… Best to you and your lovely wife… JM"
