Aguilera Defends Her Party Lifestyle

CHRISTINA AGUILERA has hit out at critics who have branded her a bad mother for enjoying nights out on the town instead of staying home with her baby son MAX - calling the comments "mean spirited".

The singer gave birth to her first child with music executive Jordan Bratman earlier this year (12Jan08) and the couple has since been regularly spotted partying at Hollywood nightspots.

But Aguilera has defended her actions - insisting it is possible to juggle a social life with being a stay-at-home mum.

She tells People.com, "Once in a while, if I want to go out and have a mommy-daddy night with my husband, I am more than allowed to do that.

"I spend all day with my son. Everybody has an opinion and everybody sometimes wants to cause drama and be mean spirited. But it's something that comes with what you do and I learned that very early on."
