Samuel L. Jackson Steps Into TV

By WENN, June 6 2008

Hollywood actor SAMUEL L. JACKSON is set to follow in the footsteps of SALMA HAYEK and become an executive producer for a U.S. TV network.

Hayek found success behind the scenes by executive producing hit show Ugly Betty and now Jackson has followed suit by signing a deal with CBS Paramount - the studio behind the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation franchise.

The agreement will see the Pulp Fiction star develop and executive produce projects for the studio through his Uppity Films production company - and he is also open to the idea of appearing in any shows he develops, much like Hayek's sporadic guest spots in Ugly Betty.

CBS Paramount president David Stapf is delighted to see Jackson sign the two-year deal.

He says, "Samuel Jackson is not only a fan of television but a really astute historian who knows it well."

The star has previously produced Spike TV's animated series Afro Samurai which returns to U.S. TV screens this autumn (08).
