Duran Duran Baffled By Festival Snub

By WENN, June 11 2008

Eighties rockers DURAN DURAN are desperate to appear at legendary British music festival Glastonbury - but are baffled as to why they have never been asked.

The Girls On Film hitmakers headlined their first festival in Australia earlier this year (08) and the performance has increased their desire to play a major live event in their native U.K.

Bassist John Taylor, 47, is disappointed they have never been invited to play Glastonbury, and fears they may be too old by the time organisers finally sign them up.

He says, "Festivals are something that we are developing. Nobody asked us to do any until V in Australia and it was a very different vibe.

"I'd love to do Glastonbury one day. But we'll probably be in our 60s when (festival organiser) Michael Eavis gets around to inviting us.

"The Earth will be frazzled and there'll be dust storms on the Pilton Farm (the event site) by then probably."
