Amy Winehouse's $2 Million Performance Faced Axe

Amy Winehouse's $2 million Russian gig was almost axed after the star allegedly failed to sober up for her performance.
The Back To Black singer was asked by Daria Zhukova, the girlfriend of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, to sing in front of a select group of art fans at The Garage gallery in Moscow, which Zhukova helped to set up.
But the exclusive one-hour performance on Thursday (June 12) night was almost canceled after the Grammy award winner arrived from London "in no condition to appear," reports the New York Daily News.
A source tells the publication, Winehouse was in such an incoherent state, organizers discussed finding a last-minute replacement to sing at the event.
However, time constraints left them with little choice other than allowing the singer to take the stage as planned.
Winehouse's entourage then "spent two hours trying to pull her together," before she finally appeared in front of the expectant crowd.
The source adds, "I heard that her singing was a little sloppy. But she still put on a terrific show."
