The Rolling Stones: 'There's No Live Nation Deal'

By WENN, June 17 2008

LATEST: Veteran rockers THE ROLLING STONES have denied reports they are poised to sign a deal with concert promoter Live Nation.

The Satisfaction hitmakers' record contract with EMI expired in February (08), and reports surfaced on Sunday (15Jun08) claiming the band was on the verge of signing a multi-million dollar deal with the live music promoters.

According to British newspaper the Observer, the Stones were considering transferring all rights to their back-catalogue and future touring rights to the entertainment giant.

But the group insists talk of a Live Nation deal is false.

In a statement, they say: "We are not in talks with Live Nation in connection with any record deal."

Executives at Live Nation, a spin-off of Clear Channel Communications, recently secured lucrative contracts with Madonna, Jay-Z, and U2.
