Magical Night As Minnelli Is Inducted Into The Bowl Hall Of Fame

By WENN, June 23 2008

LIZA MINNELLI's induction into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame on Friday night (20Jun08) fell on the 39th anniversary weekend of her mother JUDY GARLAND's death.

It also marked the first time Minnelli, 62, had performed at the Hollywood landmark.

Stepping out onstage to a standing ovation, Minnelli said, "This is maybe the best night of my life."

The beloved entertainer recalled her first visit to the Bowl when she was just four - when she sat between her mother and father Vicente Minnelli for a show honouring her godfather Ira Gershwin.

Bluesman B.B. King and flautist James Galway were also inducted into the Hall of Fame during the Friday night show and ceremony. They join past inductees Stevie Wonder, George Harrison and Frank Sinatra, among others.
