Anne Hathaway's Ex Arrested On Fraud Charges

ANNE HATHAWAY's ex-boyfriend has been arrested on suspicion of federal wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering.

Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri - who was reportedly dumped by the Devil Wears Prada star earlier this month (Jun08) - is to be hauled in front of a judge at New York's Manhattan federal court on Tuesday (24Jun08).

According to website TMZ.com, he is accused of lying to an investor, claiming he was working as the chief financial officer for the Vatican.

Police allege Follieri tricked his business associates with the lie and was able to purchase various U.S. properties owned by the Catholic church at a lower market rate.

This incident is the latest in a long line of shady dealings involving Follieri. He was arrested earlier this year (08) for passing a bad cheque and was sued by a former business partner in 2007.
