The woman behind R+B sensation NE-YO's pained love songs knows she's helping to make her ex millions - because he keeps telling her.

The singer/songwriter admits new song Stop the World and hits So Sick and Do You are all inspired from one broken romance - and he still speaks to the ex-girlfriend who broke his heart when he was a teenager.

He says, "I talk to her from time to time. She knows she's responsible. Her man knows, her daughter knows, and they're flattered.

"She makes for great song lyrics, but she better not ask for 10 per cent."
